CEO's Reborn Wife
Chapter 531 - 539: Changing Instructors?
"Are we getting a new instructor this afternoon?" After making sure the black-face instructor had walked far enough away, Mair Williams turned her head and asked the cinematographer.
"No, he’s our instructor for the next two days," replied the cinematographer.
Jane Sampson and Mair Williams looked at each other, then let out a wail and hugged each other tightly.
"Sister, be strong!" Mair said, as if they were about to part in life and death.
"You too, sister," said Jane quietly, as her heart filled with an unspeakable bitterness.
Offending the black-face instructor was one thing, but offending James Black – this was a calamity she felt she might not be able to survive.
"Mair could go into acting," Hibiscus Wood chuckled from nearby, "Come on, get up and let’s go have lunch. We need to hurry and get some rest after, because this afternoon will be another disaster for mankind."
"Help me up, I can’t stand," Mair reached out to Hibiscus Wood, "Don’t your legs ache?"
"They do, but we still have to maintain our image," Hibiscus Wood stretched out her hands and pulled one person up with each hand.
After Jane stood up, she kicked out her legs and bent down to rub them. When she thought no one was looking, she secretly rubbed her sore waist.
Her face was pinched with pain and her whole body ached.
"Can everyone hang in there?" Hugo Edwards and a few others came over looking worriedly at Jane and Mair. During the training, the two had been taken aside for punishment, and once they rejoined the team, they had fallen far behind. As a result, they became targets for the black-face instructor’s shouting whenever they couldn’t keep up.
So, the most repeated utterances on the practice field that morning were:
"Jane Sampson! With legs that long, you can’t take bigger steps?"
"Mair Williams, watch your face! Don’t think that I can’t see you rolling your eyes. Clumsy as you are, tripping over your feet, you have no right to roll your eyes!"
"I’m okay, I’m okay," Jane said, shaking her head before letting her hands fall naturally to her sides, then Alexander SkyShaw and Charlie Peterson supported her on either side and walked her to the dining hall.
As soon as she entered the dining hall, Jane started looking for Peter Gingery, but couldn’t find him. Instead, she saw someone walking by with a dining plate and a cold expression on his face.
Yeah, as expected, his face looked terrible.
Jane guiltily turned her head away and then started chatting and laughing with Charlie Peterson as they lined up to get their food.
Just as everyone was thinking they might enjoy their lunch without being timed today, and were about to feel relieved, the black-face instructor showed up.
"If you dawdle like this tonight, I’ll dock it from your mealtime."
!!!!!
Truly inhumane!
The eight of them agreed silently, no one said a word, and they all started to wolf down their food with their heads bowed. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
And sitting diagonally across from the eight, James Black’s gaze was fixed intently on Jane’s face not far away.
He saw the person who usually ate as slow as a snail now stuffing her face with food, her cheeks puffed out like the little hamsters Peter Gingery used to keep when he was studying.
Her eyes were shrewdly sizing up others’ eating pace and when she fell behind, she began to panic, barely chewing the food a few times before hurriedly swallowing it down.
Seeing this, James Black’s eyebrows knit slightly in concern. Eating like that, was she asking for a stomachache tonight?
Jane always had to eat slowly because she had been frail since she was young, and the doctor had advised her to chew her food well. That’s why she developed the habit of eating slowly.
When she ate quickly, she was prone to stomachaches.
However, no matter how hastily Jane tried to eat, she couldn’t match the pace of the others. In her panic, she choked, her face turning red as she coughed and struggled to catch her breath.
