"Also, you were clearly at home, why didn’t you turn on the lights!" Jane Sampson’s finger tapped on James Black’s hand that was massaging her waist, "Even when you take a bath, you didn’t turn on the lights!" 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶

"I just arrived at the dormitory and hurried into the bathroom. I can see, so why would I need the lights?" The bedroom light he didn’t turn on since he went straight to the bathroom when he got back, and the bathroom light, well, it broke halfway through the shower.

Watching the woman who lay there rolling her eyes at him, James Black poked her forehead.

"Alright, lie down and rest for a while, I’ll go cook you something to eat." James Black still remembered Jane saying she was very hungry earlier, so he stood up, ready to go to the kitchen to prepare a meal for her.

"Cook what?" Jane Sampson quickly sat up, legs crossed, and asked with an open mouth.

"Tomato and egg noodles." James Black, looking down at Jane Sampson’s frowned little face, heard her mutter, "I knew it would be that."

"What, you don’t want to eat?" James Black asked, "If you don’t want to eat, then you can just be hungry."

"Eat, eat, eat!" Jane Sampson quickly corrected herself, "The noodles you cook are the best!"

Acting skills not on point, nobody would believe her.

Her words didn’t match her heart.

But who could blame James Black when that’s the only dish he knows how to cook?

Only then did James Black head towards the kitchen. Jane Sampson looked around inside the room; since not many people visited, James Black had incorporated the public restroom into the master bedroom during the decoration, so as soon as she came in, the bedroom door was closed, and she could hear James Black taking a bath on the other side.

After staying in the master bedroom for a while, Jane Sampson found it boring and followed him to the kitchen.

When she entered, James Black was adding tomatoes to the pot. Jane walked over, peered into the pot, and sniffed, giggling, "Smells pretty good."

At this moment, Jane Sampson wasn’t just spouting nonsense; a person who was extremely hungry would find anything smelled good.

Jane Sampson felt she could eat an entire cow!

"Move your head away a bit. If it falls in the pot, I’m not responsible for fishing it out," said James Black with a laugh, pushing away the person poking out from under his armpit. "Go and wait outside, it’ll be ready in a while."

"How long is a while?" Jane Sampson asked an additional question, but the next second, a look from James Black swept over, she grimaced and stepped back, step by step, until she exited the kitchen. Only then did she turn around and ran off with a giggle.

Possibly, had she asked one more question just now, she would have gone back hungry tonight without any noodles.

Jane Sampson returned to the living room, and after a short wait, James Black served the noodles, one bowl each.

"The rules set for you guys are special, 15 minutes for a meal, consider it a privilege given to you." James Black handed chopsticks to Jane Sampson. "This week, if you’re hungry at night, come find me, I won’t be out on guard duty within this one week."

Jane Sampson took a bite of the noodles, so tasty she nearly swallowed her tongue, and when she heard James Black reprimanding her at the start and then turning so nice later, she almost ran over to hug him and give him a kiss.

"You’re so good! You’re extra nice today!" Jane Sampson flattered with a couple of praises, "Looking at you today, you’re especially handsome!"

"Huh." Jane Sampson’s expressions were worthless, they were valid for only those few seconds while she was speaking. Once finished, they expired.

A habitual offender.

Jane Sampson’s hunger started in the afternoon; she hadn’t had any staples at noon, just drank some soup, ate some vegetables, trained all afternoon, missed dinner, and trained again overnight. So, she devoured the bowl of noodles in a hurry—soup and all—it was probably the fastest she had ever eaten in her life.
