CEO's Reborn Wife
Chapter 490 - 498: You Can Leave
James Black could discern the hidden emotions behind her words when she said she was fine. He lowered his gaze, eyes settling on her face for a few seconds, before speaking, "Deserved it."
???
What the heck!
Jane Sampson halted, slightly pulling down her glasses, and after accomplishing the act of glaring at him, she huffed and pushed them back up.
"If you feel it’s hard, you can quit and go home," James Black pinched the soft hand he was holding, "If you think it’s boring at home alone, you can join the team and live with me."
In Jane Sampson’s mind, there was only one sentence.
She must be crazy to think it’s boring at home alone and decide to join the team.
"Thank you, Chief Black, for your concern, but I feel like I’m not tired at all," Jane Sampson said with a laugh in her voice, "So, no need to bother with the paperwork for me to join the team."
"Huh," James Black scoffed coldly, "Has your company taken care of the blog incident from this morning?"
Jane Sampson uttered a sound of confusion; after sleeping on board the plane, once she got off, she only remembered she had to meet James Black. She had nearly forgotten about the incident until he mentioned it.
Nobody had a bigger heart than Jane Sampson did.
"Sister Tin said the company would handle it, so I trust her," Jane Sampson said as she pulled out her mobile phone from her pocket to check it.
Rock Bell Tin hadn’t replied to her messages yet, so Jane Sampson logged onto her twitter. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚
Before boarding the plane, she had posted an angry tweet at the blogger and it had been shared by many, including Daniel Taylor, John Young, and James Carter, even Director Wilson had shared her tweet, smack-talking the blogger who had disparaged her character.
Jane Sampson initially thought her proud tweet might offend her fans, but the reaction that she feared didn’t occur. On the contrary, the tweet surprisingly made her fans believe even more in their idol’s talent as an actor.
Apart from these people who had interactions with Jane Sampson, other artists from the same company also lent their support by sharing the tweet and speaking out for her.
Once they were in the car, James Black put her luggage in the trunk, while she took the passenger seat, beginning to follow back everyone who had shared her tweet and sending them a private message of thanks.
Jane Sampson could be said to have been on her mobile phone the whole way, from the airport to the car. By the time James Black finished storing the luggage, got in the car, and closed the door, seeing Jane Sampson still on her phone, without a glance in his direction, his face soured.
"Fasten your seatbelt," James Black reminded her.
"Oh," she responded, but made no move to act on it, instead continued busy with her phone.
James Black waited around one minute, still not seeing Jane Sampson move, so he leaned over, pulled the seatbelt from the co-pilot seat towards her, and said, "Raise your hand."
Like an obedient child, Jane Sampson quickly raised her hand, and after James Black had fastened her seatbelt, she even politely said thank you.
However, her eyes remained glued to the phone screen, never once glancing at the face of the person she’d thanked and how unpleasant his expression was. "Jane Sampson," James Black called out the woman’s name and surname included, then directly snatched the mobile phone from her hand and threw it onto the rear seat.
"Hey! Mmph~"
Jane Sampson glared at James Black, puffing up with indignation just as she was about to retort, her mask, glasses, and hood were all stripped off by James Black and tossed to the rear seat. The next second, James Black’s lips pressed down, effectively silencing any words she had yet to utter.
