CEO's Reborn Wife
Chapter 463 - 471: Laugh Enough Before Making the Call
"Oh, James Carter called me this afternoon," Rock Bell said, unable to contain her desire to praise Jane Sampson, "John Young says, at the film premiere, they’re inviting you and James Carter to sing that song on stage together. I’ve gone ahead and accepted on your behalf." She said excitedly, "You’ve really got something, catching John Young’s eye like that. I have a feeling that for his next movie, he might just pick you."
Rock Bell continued, "Looking around the entire circle, you won’t find a second newcomer with a starting point as high as yours. Your first TV series was directed by Daniel Taylor, your second by Director Wilson, and perhaps, your third will be with John Young. Having just made your debut, you’ll get to perform shows from all four of the Four Great Directors right off the bat. Later, when your popularity skyrockets, that alone can become a shining point in your career."
Of the Four Great Directors, besides Daniel Taylor, Director Wilson, and John Young, there was also the variety show that Jane Sampson had already signed up for.
"I turned down two business activities and endorsements for you a couple of days ago. In my view, you no longer need those small-time business events or endorsements that could lower your standing. Jane Sampson, I have high hopes for you," Rock Bell said with increasing enthusiasm. "You might really become the most unique figure in the circle."
"Sister Tin, your words are making me feel like I’m on cloud nine," Jane Sampson said with a light smile, "I’ve been lucky, first meeting Sister Tin, then receiving extra care from Sister Tin’s husband, and then meeting Mr. Carter and the others. I must be the luckiest person in the circle, right?"
"Yes, you can’t deny your good fortune, but Jane, I also can’t deny your hard work and natural talent," Rock Bell didn’t quite agree with Jane Sampson’s remark, "All I gave you was the chance with Daniel Taylor. If you hadn’t worked hard, Director Wilson wouldn’t have noticed you growing. If you hadn’t been excellent, James Carter wouldn’t have approached you. And without your hard work and talent, without the lyrics you wrote overnight, John Young wouldn’t have noticed you either."
Certainly, Jane Sampson was luckier than the average artist, but she was also more diligent and more talented than most.
Hard-working people should be lucky, shouldn’t they?
"It’s getting late; I won’t keep you any longer. James Black must be waiting for your call." Rock Bell said with a laugh as she checked the time and then said goodbye before hanging up.
After being praised by Rock Bell, Jane Sampson, holding her mobile phone, was so thrilled that she was still in high spirits, exceedingly cheerful when she called James Black.
James Black was indeed waiting for Jane Sampson to return his call, although he was not certain whether she would deign to call him back. Fortunately, the call came before twelve o’clock, although as soon as it was answered, the woman’s happy laughter at the other end of the line was almost suffocating for him.
Was she so happy about being rumored with Shirley Young?
After James Carter, had she fallen for Shirley Young now?
"Tone down your laughter," James Black said, his voice deep and commanding.
"This is outrageous, you won’t even let me laugh," Jane Sampson pouted and muttered, but after she finished muttering, she couldn’t help it and giggled again, "I can’t help it."
"Then wait until you’ve had enough laughter to call me back," he said, ending the call promptly and neatly.
Doot-doot-doot~
???
!!!!
Jane Sampson sat there perplexed, listening to the buzzing sound from the phone. Was the guy mad?
