"I used your makeup remover wipes twice, then wiped with a towel for you," James Black explained.

"Didn’t clean it off properly, bad review," Jane Sampson pointed to her eyes, "Look, the eyeliner is all smudged together right here at the corner."

James Black snorted at Jane Sampson and reached out to touch the corner of her eye that she pointed to.

One look at the fingertip, and it was indeed black.

"Do all you women find makeup this troublesome?" James Black didn’t understand why there could be so many tricks to a pair of eyes.

He knew about eyeshadow, had even carefully wiped it off last night.

But he really hadn’t noticed that Jane Sampson had also applied eyeliner. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎

"You’re really something, you took off the mascara but left the eyeliner," Jane Sampson squeezed out makeup remover oil and rubbed it on her face, grumbling as she did, "How is women putting on makeup troublesome? I’m already naturally beautiful. If I weren’t this good-looking, makeup would basically be daily plastic surgery, you wouldn’t understand, would you?"

"Why should I understand?" James Black wasn’t about to try, "The woman I marry is good-looking, I don’t need to understand so much."

James Black’s matter-of-fact statement directly amused Jane Sampson; she gently rubbed her face, bending over and laughing softly.

"I’ll go make you some noodles." James Black washed up quickly, unlike Jane Sampson who still had to use makeup remover oil and facial cleanser. After washing her face, she had to quickly apply skincare products, so once he was done, he went to the kitchen to make breakfast for Jane Sampson.

In the house, the refrigerator only had tomatoes, eggs, and a long-lasting cabbage left, there wasn’t even any beef.

After Jane Sampson finished up, she saw the noodles James Black brought to the dinner table and wrinkled her nose slightly.

"No meat." Jane Sampson looked up at James Black, pouting.

Jane Sampson didn’t have a big appetite and was a bit picky, but she truly loved eating meat.

Especially the lean kind.

"Make do with it," James Black placed the chopsticks into Jane Sampson’s hand.

Jane Sampson held the chopsticks, eating a bite of noodles while pouting slightly; though she said nothing, her face was written with the words ’discontent.’

However, even with such an obvious expression of disdain, it didn’t stop her from enjoying one bite after another from the bowl.

Last night, to look good in the formal dress, she barely ate any dinner and had originally planned to call James Carter for a late-night snack after the event. But she had already fallen asleep in James Black’s arms when they were outside.

Thinking of James Carter, Jane Sampson looked up at James Black and asked, "Did I lose it last night? Did I scare you guys?"

As she spoke, Jane Sampson scratched her head nervously, muttering softly, "I’m not usually the kind of person who cries easily, but for some reason, last night I couldn’t hold back, I’m sorry."

"Why are you apologizing?" James Black noticed Jane Sampson liked fried eggs, so he took the one from his own bowl and gave it to her, continuing, "After I brought you back, James Carter called you, I answered for you, he’s very concerned about you."

A person as poised and collected as him was even seen on lens, so nervous that he didn’t even take his cane properly and was about to limp onto the stage.

If it weren’t for the fact that James Carter’s gaze at Jane Sampson contained no hint of romantic feelings, James Black would’ve already started treating James Carter as a love rival.
