"Yeah." Jane Sampson nodded heavily, her fingers gripping her mobile phone, pressing it into her palm with a bit of force, and she only stopped when a sensation of pain reached her.

With a comfortable smile, she said, "Auntie, if nothing else, you go ahead with your work. Rest assured, I definitely won’t randomly like things on the WhatsApp, I’ll just pretend I don’t know about this matter."

After hanging up the call, Jane Sampson sat on the sofa with her mobile phone, dazed for a long time. It wasn’t until Mair Williams sent her a voice message on WhatsApp that she snapped out of it.

"What were you doing for such a long time just now? How come you didn’t respond? Did you fall into the restroom?" Mair Williams spoke with great excitement, "Quick, look at the big gossip online! After speaking, Jane Sampson didn’t wait for Mair Williams to continue talking and directly ended the voice message. With her mobile phone, she jogged into the study, rummaging through before finding some pure white A4 paper in a corner of the study.

Folding it a couple of times, she used scissors to divide the A4 paper into four parts, and then rummaged through James Black’s pen holder.

As expected, she didn’t find the colored pen she wanted.

Just when Jane Sampson was pondering what to use as a substitute, she suddenly heard the sound of a door opening from the doorway.

Startled, she ran to the doorway of the study, looked out, and said, "Why are you back so early today?"

"No particular reason, I came back early." James Black said while changing his shoes and looking at Jane Sampson, "Are you reading a book?"

He was just worried that Jane Sampson might have no one to keep her company, so he came back early to check on her.

Jane Sampson shook her head, said nothing, and suddenly turned and quickly ran back.

A few seconds later, the door of the study closed with a bang, followed by her anxious voice shouting, "Don’t come in yet! Wait until I say it’s okay, then you can come in!"
