CEO's Reborn Wife
Chapter 1681 - 1689: Fools Have Their Own Luck
Jane Sampson handed her mobile phone directly to Mair Williams, who burst out laughing as soon as she saw it.
"They really are products of the same country! Let me show you the message Blackface sent me on WhatsAPP! It’s exactly the same!"
Mair Williams said while showing Jane Sampson the chat history between her and Liam Woody, "Look at this, don’t be picky with food, no staying up late. That’s nothing, just look at this message he suddenly sent when I was angry with him."
Jane Sampson’s curiosity was piqued, and when Mair Williams scrolled up the chat, Jane Sampson immediately burst into laughter.
"Don’t ignore me!" — Blackface.
"So, did you start talking to him?" Jane Sampson laughed so hard she was pounding the sofa, nearly laughing tears out.
No wonder he’s James Black’s favorite, just like the chief, just like the assistant.
"No way! Of course not!" Mair Williams shook her head twice, "Later he called me, and I told him to sing to cheer me up. Guess what, he sang the national anthem! Do you know the national anthem? Full of vigor! I wanted to clobber him to death right then, but I got laughed into good humor first, and he took my laughter as a success in cheering me up, then he thought the matter was over."
Mair Williams spread her hands, "Straight men, not even the sea-stabilizing divine needle is as straight as him."
"From blue and better than blue." Jane Sampson couldn’t help but compliment Blackface.
"And, and, do you know how Liam Woody got my parents’ approval?" Mair Williams adjusted her sitting posture and, with great enthusiasm, started recounting the New Year visit of Liam Woody to her home.
"He came with a whole box of imported cherries, standing straight at my home doorway. My cousin opened the door and didn’t let him in, then asked me at the doorway if I had called the fruit vendor from the residential community to deliver cherries upstairs."
"When I heard cherries? Oh my Mum, wasn’t it what Liam Woody said he was going to bring? So I quickly went out from the room, and lo and behold, it really was him!"
Mair Williams cracked up at this point, "He arrived a whole hour earlier than originally scheduled. When asked why he was so early, he said he was afraid of being late and concerned about traffic jams on the road, so he left early. However, during the New Year, there weren’t many cars on the road, and he arrived at my home doorway without a hitch. He was planning to dawdle at the community entrance for an hour before coming up, but he was worried that the cherries might rot if they weren’t put in the refrigerator."
"With this weather, there’s no way cherries would rot being left outside!" Jane Sampson laughed, "Good thing he was too silly to realize, otherwise he would have turned into an ice popsicle waiting outside."
"Then, luck favors the foolish, I guess." Mair Williams nodded, "After I pulled him into the door, my parents came out from the kitchen. As soon as he saw my parents, he greeted them with a ’Sister, Uncle’, which made my mother’s heart bloom with joy, and she was all smiles the whole day. Even after he left, she was still beaming."
"My mom had specially dressed up waiting for his arrival that day, but didn’t expect him to mistake her for a cousin from a relative’s home or something. Of course, that wasn’t even the funniest part."
Mair Williams said, "As soon as I heard him call it wrong, I quickly introduced him and told him, ’This is my dad and mom.’"
"And then?" Jane Sampson was deeply intrigued, sensing there was more to Mair Williams’s story.
