Jane Sampson pushed the hand off her head and finally poked a pair of eyes out from under the quilt, staring intently at James Black.

"Of course I’m going to run! I’d be a fool to just waltz into the tiger’s mouth." Jane Sampson snorted, "Don’t think I don’t know you’re trying to drag me off for training! I’m not going!"

"With your current physical condition, what could I possibly do to you?" James Black today honestly had no such idea, he just saw Jane Sampson standing there all alone looking bored, and thought he could call her over to sit next to him and watch.

"You’re the one who knows the most." James Black was amused by Jane Sampson, such a big misunderstanding, no wonder she ran so fast today.

"I just know." Jane Sampson revealed half her face and flashed a grin at James Black.

"So not coming back to get the key from me is because you’re afraid I’d grab you for training as soon as you returned, so you’d rather sit at the doorway waiting for me than come find me for the key?" James Black didn’t know whether to praise her or make fun of her.

"Oh, that’s not because of that." Jane Sampson shook her head, "Mainly because I thought I looked so cool running away, and if I had to turn around and ask you for the key in just a while, it would make me seem less imposing."

"You’re something else." James Black conceded to Jane Sampson, "Stay home and drink lots of hot water, I’m heading out."

"Okay, sir~ You do your thing~"

James Black stood up, shook his head, and lightly tapped Jane Sampson’s head with his fingertip, suddenly saying, "A boyfriend, don’t even think about it in this lifetime."

After he finished speaking, he turned around and went out.

Jane Sampson thought he had left just like that, but unexpectedly less than a minute later, he came back in and placed a cup of boiling hot water on the bedhead cabinet, gave her a glance, and then truly left.

Only then did Jane Sampson sit up, reach for the cup, and sip the tea bit by bit, thinking about James Black’s expression from just now - not sure if it was annoyed or amused - made her suddenly feel like a fool sitting there holding a teacup by herself.

At noon, James Black came back empty-handed; he hadn’t brought back any meals from the dining hall because Brooke Black personally delivered the meals prepared by Auntie from the Black Residence to the guard team.

Seeing Brooke Black following James Black into the door, Jane Sampson charged out of the bedroom at lightning speed, embracing Brooke Black with delight all over her face, "Auntie, what brings you here?"

"Came to check on you, you worrisome little lass~" Brooke Black handed the lunchbox she was carrying to James Black, asking him to take it to the dinner table, then examining Jane Sampson from head to toe, remarked, "You, you! I’ve been worried sick about you while abroad. You’ve become so skinny, like a stick, your grandfather feels sorry for you, so Auntie made you some meals, and since I had time, I brought them over and came to see you."

"I’ll quickly gain back the weight I lost." Jane Sampson set a big goal, "I’ll strive to gain ten pounds as soon as possible."

"Hmm, ten gifts barely enough." Brooke Black surely knew what Jane Sampson was thinking.

On that Twitter, the words exuding full dog food vibes, even Brooke Black’s husband told her that the couple makes people reminisce about the days of romance just by looking at them.

"You guys eat; I’ll chat with Jane for a bit." Brooke Black took Jane Sampson’s hand and walked to the dining table where James Black had already arranged the lunchboxes.

Jane Sampson sat down, and James Black handed her the tableware.
