Black Corp has been supporting the Sampton Clan for more than a decade because of little Jane. After the nurse left, James Black tucked in Jane Sampson’s blanket and gently held her hand, which was bruised from the IV needle. Tomorrow was Granny Sampson’s funeral, and he was worried about her not being well yet, and worried that after she recovered, she would be saddened again facing Granny Sampson’s funeral.

The hospital night was very quiet. The nurse came twice more to take Jane Sampson’s temperature, and Jane Sampson didn’t wake up, nor did her fever return.

"37.8 degrees, why is the fever coming back?" The nurse was almost in tears with anxiety.
