Chapter 1319: Chapter 1327: Who Did We Offend?

James Carter looked slightly surprised upon seeing William King entering the door, "Are you looking for me?"

After asking that, James Carter shook his head, "No, that’s not right. You wouldn’t come here to find me. I haven’t told anyone I’d be here tonight. Are you here looking for Jillian?"

"I was actually planning to find Miss Carter, but since Auntie and you are here, it makes no difference," William King glanced at the three sets of tableware on the table. Although he didn’t see Jillian Carter, he guessed that she must still be at home, considering her car was parked in the courtyard.

"Have a seat," James Carter stood up with his cane and asked, "Have you eaten? If not, I’ll ask Auntie to add another set of tableware."

"No need, I’m not in the mood to eat; can’t stomach it, especially since this is Miss Carter’s dinner," William King waved his hand and sat down on the sofa.

Gwendolyn Young gave James Carter a look, and he got up and joined her on the sofa in the living room, watching William King’s expression across from them. 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢

William King’s expression was undisguised displeasure and anger.

"Did Jillian do something to upset you?" James Carter asked.

"James, I consider you a friend, so when you introduced me to Jillian, I treated her like a sister and planned to help her strategize her future. But she wouldn’t listen. Even so, I, William King, have a clear conscience regarding Jillian. I believe I’ve done my utmost for Jillian," William King said, then let out a cold laugh, "But how does Jillian repay me? What wrong have I, William King, done to her that she employs such insidious tactics to ruin my career and reputation? Being in this circle, once a man’s reputation is gone, he’s finished. Doesn’t she understand that?"

William King directly transferred the photos he took on his mobile phone to James Carter, speaking with intense anger, "James Carter, see for yourself how your wonderful sister stealthily uses underhanded methods to come at me. Where did I fail her?"

Gwendolyn Young also realized the severity of the situation from William King’s attitude and words. She leaned towards James Carter, craning her neck alongside him to look at the photos on William King’s phone.

There were two photos in total, and the content made Gwendolyn’s heart race.

And the more James Carter saw, the more perplexed he became.

Here was William King standing in Jillian’s house, standing here describing Jillian as ’insidious’, thus Gwendolyn and James didn’t need to ask further to know that the email that had ruined William King’s job and reputation was likely sent by Jillian.

"Aunt, James, don’t accuse me of framing Jillian," William King said, "I had it investigated, and the email was sent from the address of this house. This house belongs to Jillian, and when it comes to the events I’ve been involved with concerning Jillian, other than James, only the parties involved, Jillian and I, would know."

William King let out a series of cold laughs, "As to the matter of helping Jillian investigate Jane Sampson’s information, again, only Jillian herself and I would know. So today, I came here to ask Jillian directly where I, William King, wronged her to the point she would carefully plot against me. Also, to let her know that she shouldn’t think she can bully me just because I am young and without a job now. If this matter spills out, my reputation will be destroyed as well."

William King was livid, slamming his hand on the tea table, "I, a barefoot William King, am not afraid to take on those with shoes. With my capability, if Jillian dares to mess with me, seeking revenge would be as simple as lifting my thumb! She shouldn’t think she can push around William King!"
