CEO's Reborn Wife
Chapter 1315 - 1323: An Unreasonable Request
Rock Bell’s style has always been decisive and swift. Armed with this evidence, she summoned William King to her office and handed him the termination agreement that had been prepared early in the morning.
Rock Bell was quite straightforward, "Sign this termination agreement and it will be good for you, good for me, and good for everyone. It saves everyone the embarrassment later on."
William King was quite surprised, and after noticing that the termination agreement made no mention of compensation from Party A, and considering Rock Bell’s words, he started to sense something.
"Sister Bell, may I ask why? I admit I haven’t been working at the studio for very long, but I have been dedicated and diligent in my work," said William King. "The absence of any mention of studio compensation in the termination agreement, coupled with your earlier words about it being good for everyone, leads me to guess that perhaps there’s some misunderstanding about me."
After all, everyone was still in high spirits when they met in the studio this morning, and suddenly, by midday, Rock Bell had turned hostile.
Having been around in this circle for significant time, William King knew enough about Rock Bell’s character. She wasn’t someone to disregard personal feelings in her actions.
Seeing that William King was serious in asking, Rock Bell snorted, directly accessed the emails, and then turned the computer screen around, "Take a look for yourself, after you have, I believe you won’t ask me why."
William King glanced at Rock Bell’s expression and then read the contents of the email.
A few seconds later, William King’s expression changed drastically.
"Sister Bell, about the stuff in the email regarding Jillian Carter and me, I can’t deny it’s true. Before I joined the studio, James Carter and I were friends. James Carter approached me to take care of his sister, which I agreed to, but after meeting Jillian Carter, I refused. As you have seen, she ended up taking the influencer path," Williams King explained anxiously. "Later, Jillian asked me to help her investigate Boss Sampton, and I agreed because by then, I was already considering joining Jane Joy Studio. I strive for perfection in everything I do. So, investigating Boss Sampton was something I inherently wanted to do. My thoughts were simple: Boss Sampton is around the same age as Jillian Carter, and I didn’t want another boss as hard to serve as Jillian."
William King shifted his gaze from the computer screen, "However, investigating Boss Sampton might indeed not look honorable, and I will personally apologize to Boss Sampton, but the emails claim that I was working for Jillian, this part, I must refute. I, William King, no matter what, would never stoop to such a shameful task."
Having said that, William King then picked up a pen and signed his name on the termination agreement. He didn’t mention anything further about compensation.
At this point, just as Rock Bell had said, by willingly signing the agreement to leave Jane Joy, it was a win-win, and everyone saves face.
William King also understood Rock Bell’s reluctance to continue employing him, he would have felt the same reservations.
"Sister Bell, I have an awkward favor to ask. Can I use my mobile phone to take a picture of this email, including the email address and the content?" William King said. "I have a rough idea of who sent this email, but I need to ask my friend to help verify it."
