Jane Sampson glanced at it a few times before turning it off. She genuinely didn’t have much curiosity about Jillian Carter. The last time she saw Jillian Carter at the award ceremony, she also heard about Jillian’s plans to enter the industry, but Jane was somewhat surprised that with such good connections and resources, Jillian would choose the path of live streaming.

It’s not that Jane had any prejudice against live streaming. Just looking at all those live stream influencers who desperately tried to break into the entertainment industry was enough to tell that live streaming is really just a fleeting youth meal, even more brutal than the entertainment industry.

After exiting Twitter, Jane continued reading her novel until James Black came up to call her for lunch in the afternoon; reluctantly she put down her mobile phone and followed him downstairs.

Aunt Black and her husband were not in the house at noon, so it was just James Black, Jane, and Old Master Black. At the dining table, Jane brought up her schedule to the elderly Black, mentioning that she was going to join the recording of "Oh My Mum" at the end of the month.

Jane simply believed it was proper to inform her senior before going on a long trip, but she hadn’t expected Old Master Black to actually know the show.

"You’re actually going to play a child’s mother?" Old Master Black laughed, "I really like that little phoenix tree, the little lass is so cute, especially when she cries. When you go, if you get the chance, make a video call to me so I can say a few words to the little lass."

"Sure, I’ll sneak away from the cameraman when I get a chance." Jane nodded and agreed, then casually asked, "Grandfather, don’t you usually love watching the guard team shows or law-related programs on TV? How do you know about these star variety shows?"

"I stumbled upon it and found it quite good," Old Master Black sighed softly, "With no little lasses around to tease, watching other people’s children relieves some boredom; it’s pretty nice."

Jane felt that at lunch she probably talked too much, as Old Sir’s urgency to press for grandchildren seemed to be getting stronger. Any topic could be steered towards the matter of having children.

So, Jane chose to remain silent while eating thereafter.

After the meal, Old Master Black called James Black over for a couple of games of chess. Jane moved a chair to sit next to them, leaning lazily against James Black’s back as she continued to read the novel on her mobile phone that she hadn’t finished before lunch.

Due to Jane’s promotion on Twitter, the novel’s popularity had soared in a short amount of time. In the book review section, many of Jane’s fans left comments:

However, Jane was unaware of the lively atmosphere her fans stirred up in the book review section. After reading, she didn’t even want to put the book down, occasionally holding her belly and laughing out loud.

Since her whole body was leaning against James Black, her hearty laughter would make his body shake several times, and the commotion was so great that both James Black and Old Master Black couldn’t help but look at her several times.
