Cave Refuge
Chapter 791 - 516 Progress Over Half_2
The height of the passage opposite should be about three meters, yet even so, when that fellow appeared stooping, his back was tightly pressed against the top of the passage.
It was only after the guy emerged from the passage that he stood up straight as if liberated.
When the opponent left the passage and stood upright in the hall, Dong Tianyu felt an unwarranted palpitation within his heart.
However, this odd thought quickly vanished from Dong Tianyu’s mind. He had fought such big guys in full Armor before, and the one appearing now was just a bit stronger than the armored monsters he had killed last time, so there was nothing to fear.
With that in mind, Dong Tianyu immediately controlled the Flying Swords behind him, attacking the joints of the massive figure.
To Dong Tianyu’s surprise, while one could say that the attack of the Flying Swords was ineffective, it did manage to create a crack in the Armor.
But to say it was effective, the moment the Flying Swords left the figure, the area they had damaged moments ago had already quickly restored itself to normal.
Seeing this, Dong Tianyu once again used Sword Control to attack from behind the opponent.
This time, the Flying Swords pierced through the opponent’s body, but even so, the Armor on the opponent’s body surface began to slowly repair itself the instant the Flying Swords completely left the body.
Seeing this, Dong Tianyu certainly didn’t move forward to touch the opponent or attempt to arrest him directly.
Watching the huge figure across from him being attacked twice but seemingly unaffected, Dong Tianyu admittedly felt a headache coming on.
It was then that Dong Tianyu regretted not learning more Techniques because he had to practice performances with the Canaries every day, aside from his daily routine of Cultivation.
In fact, Dong Tianyu couldn’t really be blamed, as there was no legacy of Techniques in the outside world, and any Technique he wanted to learn would require spending Survival Points to purchase.
And Survival Points, aside from the daily sign-in reward, had not offered Dong Tianyu any other ways to acquire them for quite some time.
Besides, the daily allocation of Survival Points was only related to the number of cataclysms that had struck, and Dong Tianyu had not found any other way to obtain Survival Points.
Of course, although Dong Tianyu had only learned some basic Techniques, this did not mean his combat ability was weak.
Even though Dong Tianyu didn’t master many Techniques, with just the Sword Control Technique alone, he could show his opponent what "scientific Cultivation" meant.
Under normal circumstances, when Dong Tianyu used Sword Control Technique, the Flying Swords maintained a relatively stable state in flight,
But this time, under Dong Tianyu’s control, the Flying Swords began to spin wildly.
The Flying Swords then resembled a whirlwind assault tornado, much like the four-wheel drive brothers, or the Fang Pursuit Jutsu from Naruto.
The spinning Flying Swords turned into a giant Drill Head, boring a large hole directly through the burly figure’s chest.
After the large hole appeared, Dong Tianyu had two choices: the first was to reach into the cavity before the opponent could recover and try to touch the hidden body.
This method was quite straightforward but carried a certain risk. As the recovery speed of the opponent’s body was still uncertain, if Dong Tianyu’s hand were to be trapped due to a sudden recovery, it would not be easy to free his arm.
Hence, Dong Tianyu decisively chose the other method. Taking advantage of the big hole in the opponent’s chest that had yet to repair, he took out a large number of C4 explosives from the Storage space and threw them, along with the detonator, right into the large hole in the opponent’s chest.
Just as Dong Tianyu had predicted, soon after he threw the C4 with the detonator into the opponent’s chest, the figure restored itself to normal once again.
While tossing the C4, Dong Tianyu took the opportunity to inspect the inside of the Armor through the large hole in the chest.
Seeing the bloody mess at the edge of the hole, Dong Tianyu hadn’t expected that, unlike last time, there was actually something inside the Armor.
Regardless of whether there was something inside or not, with a "boom," a loud explosion sounded.
The towering figure standing in place suddenly swelled, followed by plumes of acrid smoke continuously drifting from the gaps in the helmet towards the sky.
It wasn’t until the notification of a successful capture and the reminder that there were five remaining hiders that Dong Tianyu confirmed the hider concealed within the armor had died.
However, the armor of the deceased hider remained erect in place and, upon the wearer’s death, began to shrink slowly.
As the armor contracted, the remains and bloodstains inside were slowly expelled from the helmet.
The gigantic armor, initially about seven or eight meters tall, had now shrunk to the size of about half a cubic meter.
’I didn’t expect to actually get a loot drop this time.’
Just as Dong Tianyu thought about collecting it into the Storage Space for potential future use, the image of the hider within the armor being blown to bits surfaced in his mind.
Instantly feeling goosebumps, he then discarded it into the Cave for disassembly.
Dong Tianyu hadn’t anticipated that his action, motivated by disgust, would lead to a new type of magical ore with spiritual qualities appearing in the earth’s veins.
Equipment forged from this ore would have a certain degree of self-repair capability.
Of course, the higher the proportion of this metal used in forging, the better the self-repair effect when the finished equipment suffered damage.
Although the metal ore collection in the Cave’s veins continued to grow, there wasn’t much of the metal to begin with, and Dong Tianyu wasn’t in urgent need of forging any Magical Weapons.
So, for the time being, Dong Tianyu decided to let it rest within the earth’s veins and serve as a seed for the ore, allowing it to slowly assimilate the surrounding rock and gradually proliferate. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢
After dealing with another hider who sought out death, Dong Tianyu’s capture task in the Mysterious Realm was more than halfway complete.
Just as Dong Tianyu was optimistically thinking that he could quickly capture the remaining hiders, after sweeping through all the rooms on this level, he found no other hiders.
However, Dong Tianyu wasn’t concerned, because the layout map near the stairwell had confirmed there were only three levels.
After all, he had captured five hiders on this level; the others must be hiding in different cabins.
Dong Tianyu stuck to the original plan, heading to the very bottom to the lower storeroom first.
Upon entering the lower storeroom, all he saw were neatly stacked boxes, and using Divine Sense to explore, he confirmed this was a warehouse specifically for various supplies.
There were several zones, each housing food, daily necessities, tools, spare parts for repairs, and the like.
At this moment, Dong Tianyu was like a rat that had stumbled into a hoard, whistling cheerily while rapidly stowing these boxes into the Storage Space.
When Dong Tianyu passed a box that, for some reason, wasn’t pulled into the Storage Space, he paid it no heed and didn’t pause, moving straight to the next box.
As the number of boxes in the cabin dwindled, until the very last box was collected, the storeroom was left with a solitary box.
A Divine Sense probe revealed the box to be filled with a stack of stools.
Yet Dong Tianyu didn’t care, for according to the rules of this Mysterious Realm, no matter what he tried, he was unable to detect a hider after their transformation.
Now, with only this single box remaining in the storeroom, Dong Tianyu made a small hole on top of the box with Flying Swords, then took out a High-Explosive Grenade from the Storage Space, pulled the pin, and tossed it inside.
The explosion of the grenade instantly shattered the box into pieces, and Dong Tianyu heard the notification of a successful capture, leaving four remaining hiders.
