Beyond these two, another possibility was the collective malfunction of their communication devices, although this was less likely.

At this point, they were very conflicted. If it was just the first scenario, it meant the Wave Rider possessed strong combat capabilities; thus, even a small-scale troop reinforcement would likely end in failure unless they could incite others in the base to strike en masse, which did not promise a high chance of success either.
