As Dong Tianyu watched the floating corpses of the Shark People on the water, although he had confirmed with his Divine Sense that they were indeed dead, he still felt a vague sense of danger in his heart for some unknown reason.

In most situations, Dong Tianyu tried to avoid using firearms when possible, and unlike firearms, incendiary grenades were homemade weapons Dong had made, which were also simple to create.

With just commonly used bottles, liquid flammable substances, and something to ignite such as cotton wadding, torn cloth, or even newspaper, a simple combination could produce an easily throwable incendiary grenade.

There were quite a few of these simple incendiary grenades stored in Dong Tianyu’s Storage Space; although their individual power was not very strong, whenever Dong Tianyu used them, he could ensure there was plenty.

As Dong tossed one incendiary bottle after another onto the island, the black liquid contaminated the entire island’s ground; watching as the fuel covered the island’s surface, Dong was about to ignite the island with an incendiary bottle.

Suddenly, he noticed numerous small holes appearing on the ground; as these holes formed, the accumulated fuel on the ground started flowing into them.

Just as Dong Tianyu feared the disappearance of the fuel and was about to immediately ignite the island, he suddenly saw black, tentacle-like objects emerging from the holes.

Seeing this, Dong Tianyu immediately set down the incendiary bottle he was about to ignite and observed closely with his Divine Sense to see exactly what those things were.

After careful observation, Dong Tianyu noticed that the black exterior of those things was not their natural color, but rather it was stained by the fuel he had thrown onto the island.

Once these things emerged from underground, their skin continuously secreted a liquid, trying to remove the fuel stuck on their surface.

However, the island’s surface was completely covered in fuel by Dong Tianyu, and even though they could temporarily clean the fuel off their surface with the secreted liquid, their burrows were already filled with fuel; they would be contaminated again as soon as they retracted.

Dong Tianyu quietly observed this on the ship for a long time; these creatures seemed to lack intelligence, repeatedly going through the same motions without learning or adapting.

The creatures resembled sandworms hiding under the beach with elongated bodies and only a mouth at the top.

After so much time had passed and Dong Tianyu was certain that nothing new would emerge, he casually ignited the incendiary bottle he had been clutching, and as it smashed onto the ground, perhaps due to the island’s soft soil, the incendiary bottle did not shatter.

The bottle’s impact did not break it, but as the burning material at the bottle’s mouth continued to burn, once the flames entered the interior of the incendiary bottle, it instantly exploded.

With a loud explosion, the flames from the exploding incendiary bottle splattered around and instantly set the fuel covering the island ablaze.

As a result of the explosion, the black liquid that had covered the ground instantly ignited into a fierce fire, and those emerging from underground screamed a ’hissing’ sound under the scorching flames.

Under the flames, the creatures, like dehydrated sponges, continuously had liquid flowing out of their bodies, and as the water inside them kept evaporating, their originally plump bodies gradually shriveled up, and finally, their dehydrated bodies were also ignited by the surrounding flames.

To completely eradicate them, Dong Tianyu then threw several more incendiary bottles onto the island, ensuring the flames could not be extinguished temporarily.

After using his Divine Sense to scan back and forth, confirming there were indeed no other creatures on the island, Dong Tianyu finally stopped his actions.

Some time passed and once all the flames on the island had naturally died out, the sense of crisis enveloping Dong Tianyu gradually dissipated.

Only then did Dong Tianyu finally ease his mind, but he still wasn’t prepared to set foot on the island himself; instead, he summoned a cow from the Cave and, with the assistance of his Divine Sense, sent it to scout the island first to ensure there were no other dangers.

Dong Tianyu’s caution had once again saved him from another calamity.
