Chapter 746: Chapter 494 Leaving

Some things aren’t better with more people involved. Having made up his mind, Zachary sat on the sofa, quietly waiting for Master Ye’s response.

After pondering for a long time, Master Ye finally made a decision and said directly, "Maybe it’s because I’m getting old that I tend to overthink. My mind doesn’t work as fast as you young people’s. I was shortsighted this time.

Zachary, we’ll go with your plan this time. We’ll go back and pack our things now. When do you think it would be best for us to leave?"

Hearing Master Ye say this, Zachary didn’t give it much thought. "The sooner we leave, the better. I’m afraid if we delay, unexpected complications might arise," he said.

"Then let’s do this—we’ll meet up on the deck in three hours and leave together. How does that sound?"

Zachary was actually somewhat surprised by Master Ye’s proposal. According to his guess, although the Taylor family was under ostracism, they likely still had some things that would be difficult to take with them.

Zachary had thought that Master Ye would deliberately delay their departure to facilitate dealing with those things they couldn’t take along.

But unexpectedly, Master Ye suggested leaving so soon. Following this suggestion, it was certain that the Taylor family would abandon many things they couldn’t take, likely incurring considerable losses.

However, once Master Ye made his decision, his attitude was to follow through with it even if it meant making tough sacrifices. Zachary admired him for this. Although he didn’t know how much the Taylor family had given up, the fact that Master Ye didn’t even attempt to hold onto their possessions was indeed a surprise to Zachary.

After Zachary and Robinson William synchronized their watches, Robinson and Master Ye left in a hurry.

It was only after the Taylor family had completely left that Mr. Thompson spoke, slightly puzzled, "Are we really going to leave with them?"

Although Mr. Thompson was quite friendly with Master Ye, that friendship was insignificant compared to his son’s safety.

"Dad, it’s okay. The ship we’re taking this time is quite large, and bringing along a few more people won’t be an issue. But we need to pack now. To prevent any accidents, I’ll take you and mom to my boat first," Zachary said.

Mr. Thompson wanted to say something in response to his son’s suggestion, but after opening his mouth, he ultimately didn’t utter a word. He silently went into the bedroom to help Mrs. Thompson pack their belongings.

Zachary scanned the living room with his Spiritual Sense Scanning and discovered several hidden compartments in the inconspicuous areas of the modest space.

His Divine Sense penetrated the outer packaging of the compartments, revealing that each contained extremely pure gold bars.

From the patterns on the outer surfaces of the compartments, it could be inferred that these were the possessions of either one individual or the same group of people.

It remained uncertain whether these hidden compartments were personal provisions of his father or something left by a previous owner of the house.

The amount of gold within the compartments wasn’t substantial; altogether, they amounted to just over ten kilograms.

Of course, this "not much" was in comparison to Zachary’s wealth. To an ordinary person, however, it was undoubtedly a significant fortune.

Perhaps realizing the urgency of their situation, Mr. and Mrs. Thompson didn’t linger in the bedroom. Soon, Mrs. Thompson and Mr. Thompson each emerged pushing a suitcase.

Even before Zachary could speak, as Mr. and Mrs. Thompson just entered the living room, they went straight to inspect the locations where Zachary had sensed the hidden compartments.

It appeared that even if Mr. and Mrs. Thompson hadn’t hidden these compartments themselves—assuming they belonged to a previous owner—they must have discovered them earlier and simply hadn’t retrieved the contents until now.

Having decided to leave, Mr. and Mrs. Thompson were determined to take all the gold with them.

Mr. Thompson took a suitcase from under the table that had been prepared earlier, removed all the gold from the hidden compartments, and stuffed it into the case.

He then handed the case to Zachary, saying, "This is something we’ve saved up for you. It’s not much, but it should sell for something. We were planning to give it to you when you visited, but now it’s a good time to pass it on early. Keep it safe and don’t lose it."

Hearing this, Zachary didn’t refuse and took the suitcase from his father, immediately placing it in his backpack.

Seeing that an hour had passed, Zachary decided to leave first with his parents.

The three of them reached the deck. To leave from there, aside from jumping over the railing and directly into the water, one could only exit the deck by sliding down a rope—akin to abseiling in rock climbing.

This method of descent, similar to rappelling in climbing sports, poses very low risk. Even those who are untrained youths, after observing a few times, could easily learn as long as they overcome their fear.

Although the patrol personnel on the deck saw the three members of the Thompson Family, and even saw Mr. Thompson and Mrs. Thompson each carrying a suitcase and Zachary with a large bag on his back,

they did not approach to ask what the Thompsons were up to; instead, they closely and carefully observed the three individuals’ appearances. Just as Zachary thought they might come to cause trouble,

to his surprise, the patrol personnel not only did not come forward to inquire, but they hurried off in other directions.

Mr. Thompson might not have known the full situation, but being wise, he decided not to keep his son guessing. After seeing Zachary’s puzzled expression, Mr. Thompson didn’t beat around the bush and directly explained:
