Cave Refuge
Chapter 472 - 360 Ye Liuyun’s Thoughts
Zyaire understood Dong Tianyu’s thoughts quite well; however, for Dong Tianyu, it was sufficient to have a stable channel for acquiring mystical items—perhaps higher-level trade within their camp might yield even more.
But compared to the basic trust already established with Zyaire, trading with the camp’s decision-makers would be more troublesome.
After agreeing with Zyaire on the quantity for their next trade, Dong Tianyu declined Zyaire’s invitation to dine together and chose not to stay overnight at the camp but instead left immediately to head home.
Seeing that Zyaire’s attempts to retain him were fruitless, Zyaire personally escorted Dong Tianyu to the camp’s main gate.
Before parting ways, Dong Tianyu said to Zyaire, "Help me check why Nolan is causing me trouble. I’ve just arrived at the camp and didn’t even know him before. Besides, I didn’t flaunt wealth or have conflicts with others, so why is Nolan troubling me for no apparent reason?"
Hearing Dong Tianyu’s request, Zyaire was also somewhat curious. He knew Nolan well; although Nolan’s character was spoiled to some degree of arrogance, he wouldn’t just go around bullying strangers on the streets.
Moreover, Nolan’s background was substantial, but he wasn’t a fool. Under normal circumstances, he wouldn’t casually hit the alarm button. Given Zyaire’s understanding of Nolan’s position, there definitely was a problem.
Taking his own curiosity into account, Zyaire readily agreed to Dong Tianyu’s request.
After saying goodbye to Zyaire, Dong Tianyu went straight into the forest. Once he was far enough from the camp and confirmed there were no other survivors around, Dong Tianyu ascended into the sky with Sword Control, speeding back to the camp through the air.
Since the return journey was entirely airborne, there were no unexpected incidents along the way, and the entire process was very smooth.
After landing near Saxon County Camp, Dong Tianyu didn’t immediately enter the camp but went into the Cave instead.
This time, having obtained six mystical items from Zyaire’s camp, Dong Tianyu didn’t bother to figure out how to use them and instead decomposed and absorbed them directly in the Cave.
As one mystical item after another turned to dust before his eyes, the Data Layout within the Cave showed a percentage of upgrade progress that jumped noticeably.
Seeing the upgrade progress was not even one-third complete, Dong Tianyu felt somewhat helpless. Used to finding any warehouse in the past where the contents could satisfy the Cave’s upgrade requirements, he always found the current upgrade speed somewhat unsatisfactory.
But there was no helping it. In the past, no matter the amount of materials needed, the upgrade resources could be found nearby. Now, however, the upgrade required materials with spirituality, which might be restricted like game version limits on equipment upgrades, making the necessary materials hard to come by and hence severely delaying the Cave’s upgrade speed.
Fortunately, now that he had found mystical items able to facilitate the Cave’s upgrade progress, as long as there were enough mystical items, the upgrade of the Cave was just a matter of time.
After dealing with the newly acquired mystical items, Dong Tianyu rested for a night inside the Cave, and only on the following day did he return to the camp.
As Dong Tianyu entered the camp gate and saw others chatting with communication devices in their hands, he suddenly remembered his communication device, which he had put into Storage Space.
With this thought, Dong Tianyu hastily took the communication device out of the Storage Space. As soon as the device left the Storage Space, he heard a tinkling notification sound from the device.
Hearing this sound, Dong Tianyu quickly picked up the device and, looking at the missed calls displayed, besides his parents, Robinson William and Madeline had also called him several times.
Seeing this, Dong Tianyu hurriedly made contact with his parents first. After ensuring that there were no issues on their end and that they had called just to ask where Dong Tianyu was and when he would return—just everyday concerns—he chatted briefly with his parents before hanging up.
Next, Dong Tianyu called Robinson William. There wasn’t anything important; it was just routine contact, wanting to know when Dong Tianyu would return. After a brief exchange of pleasantries, Dong Tianyu ended the call voluntarily.
Thinking that Madeline probably didn’t have any issue either, but still needing to make the call, he decided to catch up on her recent situation and also to purchase the enhanced nutritional supplements from Madeline for trade with Zyaire.
"Hey, troublemaker, where are you now?"
Madeline, initially pleased to see Dong Tianyu’s name on the incoming call display, felt displeased upon hearing the nickname only Dong Tianyu would use and replied irritably, "Little Dong, you still remember to call your big bro, huh?"
"Cut it out, when did I ever call you ’big bro’? And watch your freaking language. What did you need calling me for?"
"Where are you at the moment? I actually do need to talk to you."
"I’ve just returned. Where are you? It might not be convenient at my place. Shall we meet and talk at your place?"
"Fine, you know where I keep the key to the gate. Just head over, and I’ll get back to you once I tie up what I’m doing here."
"Alright, you take care of your stuff."
Afterwards, they didn’t engage in much idle chatter and hung up the phone.
