CAT WARLOCK: This Darklord Feasts Upon Horror
Chapter 339: Tidal Shrine
"Wouldn’t it be a little... I don’t know. Expose if we construct the Shrine outside? We can make her Shrine inside the Prison." Selina said.
The black cat shook his head, "The Prison is not suitable for her. One floor is too hot. One floor is too dark. And one floor is too cold. None of the Floors is suitable with a Siren.
Beside, it is not the first time we construct a Shrine in the real world anyway. Let them know."
The black cat opened his mouth. The Tidal Seal landed on the fountain.
The sea became restless and humidity invaded the air. A few surfers noticed the ocean was picking up speed. They quickly went back to shore.
"Did you hear that?"
"What?"
"Sound like someone’s singing. She has a nice voice."
Many people in the Bay District heard that. The singing made their heart flush and their desire rise. They hadn’t felt this passionate for a long time. It was almost like they were young again.
Then, a massive vortex appeared in the ocean. Fish came up to the water surface and swam around chaotically.
People at the beach didn’t understand what was going on. They quickly exited the beach for the fear of their lives.
An emergency warning was broadcasted all across Aeliz City, telling people that there might be a huge tsunami coming due to the sudden change of weather.
Some Psychics were assigned to the Bay District in case the destruction may go out of hand.
But there was no tsunami at all. The restless sea came down and disappeared as quickly as when it had been agitated.
People didn’t know was that about while the higher-ups suspected it might be the effect of a powerful Psychic.
Back in the resort, the water fountain had enlarged and went deeper. Water flooded the space.
"What happened?" Selina said.
The black cat shrugged. It jumped down into the water.
Selina looked around before removing her outer clothes and jumped down with Mater.
The ordinary water fountain had transformed into a large pool of water with great depths.
In the middle of the bottom water floor was a statue of Evelynn. A beautiful angelic face with a pair of bird wings and fish tail. She sat lazily on the perch of a rock.
’This shrine is a bit different.’ Mater’s voice echoed telepathically in Selina’s head.
’This one is literally a Shrine for her.’ Selina replied in her mind.
The pool of water had many pathway beneath. Selina and Mater followed a passage and found a large pool room with uncountable slides underneath.
They got out of the water and looked at the hidden room.
"A pool room?" Selina said. "Did you intend to do this?"
"Not really. I did use a Submission Pact so it might have unknown effects that I couldn’t anticipate. However, I don’t think it’s bad."
The black cat flew on top of a slide and slide down.
"This place is going to be extremely popular with the tourists." The black cat meowed.
"Yes. If they have enough breaths to come here." Selina said.
Evelynn was busy attending a few interviews as Jean Mollison. She still had to put up a facade if she wanted to keep using Jean’s identity.
When she arrived at the resort, night had already fallen.
’Where are you, Master?’ The Siren reached out to Mater telepathically.
’Jump in the pool.’ Mater replied.
Evelynn looked at the huge circular pool in the middle. The water was so clear that she could see the bottom of the pool and her own statue.
Evelynn looked around and made sure no one was around before removing her Mimicry Mask and stripped off her clothes.
The Siren jumped into the water and her feet immediately changed into one single fish tail.
Evelynn was incredibly agile in the water. She circled around her own statue. It looked like her but it had something wrong with it. She couldn’t understand why.
Mater and Selina returned from the poolroom.
’Like your new Shrine?’ Mater communicated telepathically.
’I am grateful, Master. But there seems to be something wrong. The Shrine feels dead.’ Evelynn said.
’It is because we have not connected it to the sea yet. You need salt water. The Tidal Shrine also has the ability to terraform the area around it to a certain extent. It is not as powerful as Sparrow’s Terrestrial Shrine, but it should be enough for you to make a link to the sea. Try it.’
Evelynn nodded and swam toward the statue. When she put her hand on it, the Siren and the statue fused into one.
The statue became her and she was also it.
Evelynn felt the call of the sea and she let the Shrine naturally make that connection.
Another passage was created within the pool, leading somewhere. Salt water was filled in that new room that was just made, separating from the pool.
’Let’s see what she just made.’ Mater’s voice echoed.
Evelynn detached herself from the statue. The statue didn’t revert back to its original form, instead, Evelynn had permanently left a piece of her inside.
She could see what the statue saw and the overall situation within the resort.
They swam through the new passage. The clean, smooth white tiles of the pool slowly changed into a more natural, beautiful cave-like formation the deeper they went.
The second room was a natural cove that led straight into the sea. It had taken roots of a rock formation somewhere at the beach of the Bay District.
"This place is so nice." Selina swam around with her face up. "Much better than the public beach.
The cat trembled to shake the water off him. He looked like a dog for a few seconds.
"Yes. But the cove is a bit ugly. Sparrow probably can fix that." The black cat meowed.
Evelynn sat on a rock and breathed in. The salty air of the sea made her feel at ease.
"Here." Mater spat out the Brine Sphere. Inside was the power of the Brine that he took from the Pirate back in the Confederation. "With a Shrine, you can absorb this. It should make you reach level 10, ready to advance to Rank-2."
"Thank you, Master." Evelynn bowed. "May I hug you, Master."
The black cat wet his paw then swiped his head full of fur back. "Come here, baby."
Evelynn grabbed him forcefully and rubbed her cheeks on his small cat face.
