Chapter 247: Too Slow

In response to his words, Jia Molei gritted his teeth and forced his numb arm to shove Ku Jin away to no avail. "Let go... fucker..." he choked out. His voice was not even louder than the crashing waves, yet upon hearing this, the smile on Ku Jin’s face faded away and his gaze turned extremely dark.

"Enough playing," he snarled.

He Juan’s body turned rigid as Ku Jin put his fingers into his mouth and let out a long whistle.

In the next second, the container door behind Ku Jin slammed open and a horde of men jumped out, their momentum was fierce and ferocious as they lunged straight toward He Juan!

In their hands were weapons such as steel pipes and small daggers, not dangerous enough to take lives, but it would certainly make the other party suffer. He Juan belatedly realized that this must be the reason why Jia Molei told him to run. He must have known that Ku Jin was planning to play dirty. Alas, everything was already too late.

He Juan was not even given the chance to count how many men it was when they rushed forward and besieged him from all sides!

They were not as strong or agile as Ku Jin, but their sheer number was overwhelming. He Juan blocked a steel pipe with his arm while kicking the other man on the stomach. Just then, he felt a strong wind coming toward him from behind. He did not even look back as he swung his elbow and jammed the other party on the throat, causing the dagger to fly out somewhere from the man’s hands.

But at the same time, another man took the advantage to slam his steel pipe on He Juan’s waist, forcing a disgruntled groan from his lips!

A few meters away, Ku Jin threw his head back and laughed in full delight as he witnessed He Juan struggling to defend against the relentless attacks. "See?!" He told Jia Molei in his arms. "He’s gotten so weak that he can’t even win against these lowly peasants!"

What followed thereafter was a blur. Blows after blows landed on his body and the sharp tip of the daggers slashed into his skin, drawing blood. Even then, He Juan resisted like an agitated beast, his eyes turning bloodshot at the ever growing scent of blood, and a muted growl rising from his throat as thick pheromones swirled around him.

As soon as He Juan let his pheromones out, the movement of the men around him turned sluggish, their faces turning pale as they stared at him with horror.

Not giving them any chance to react, he snatched a steel pipe from someone’s hand and began to attack his enemies with a ferocious momentum!

At that moment, any traces of the gentle and kind He Juan was nowhere to be seen. Blood was splattered all over his body, his pupils were molten silvery, and his attacks became more and more savage with each passing second. He Juan sensed it vividly as his body turned lighter, his clumsy movements turned smoother, and the entire world slowed down in front of him.

Too slow, he slammed his palm against the opponent’s elbow and dislocated his arm with a resounding crack, before shoving him aside.

Too slow, he watched as a dagger slashed toward him from the side. He Juan did not even need to think to know where it would land. He tilted his body to avoid the blow, raised the bloody steel pipe in his hand and swung it toward the side of the man’s neck. As the terrifying crunch of his bones echoed out loud, the man’s eyes rolled to the back of his head and he slumped to the ground, his fate unknown.

Too slow, too slow, too slow. Everything had become too slow...

What was going on...? He Juan had no idea that he was capable of this before. He felt like he was no longer in authority of his body, as if his soul had detached to float in midair to witness the battle from the sidelines. His head was numb and he was no longer able to think straight. He was entirely moving based on instinct.

Kill, his Alpha howled in excitement. Kill them all!

One after another, bodies fell around him, groaning and screaming in pain. Some were unconscious and it was unknown whether they were still alive or not. The scent of blood and pheromones in the air mixed together akin to a battle horn, summoning their general that had once lost his way, back to the battlefield.

And unbeknownst to He Juan himself, the corner of his lips curved into a bloodthirsty smile. Just like the Asura who climbed his way out of a mountain of resentful corpses.

"No..." Jia Molei’s eyes reddened when he saw this, whispering. "He Juan, stop..."

Ku Jin tightened his grip on him. "Stop?" He chuckled. "But baby, I am just getting started." He gave a signal to the six lackeys that were watching from the sidelines.

Receiving it, they gulped nervously, glanced at He Juan who was on a killing spree, gritted their teeth and joined the battle!

The tide of favor that had barely tilted toward He Juan became unstable again due to the six additional men. It was apparent that the level of these men were contrastingly different from the previous ones. They did not hold any weapons, yet each blow they landed on He Juan’s body managed to push He Juan back step by step.

Damn it! He Juan spat out the blood in his mouth, chest heaving in exertion. His stamina had already been drained by the first group and now... he could barely hold on against the other six! If this went on longer...

Before he could think of a countermeasure, a blaring horn echoed from afar and dots of light appeared on the surface of the ocean. With a fierce roar, seven motorboats approached them in a flash!

He Juan’s heart abruptly sank when he caught sight of this. Oh no... how many people have the imposter prepared to torture him today?!

He Juan resisted the acidic pain on his bones and forced himself to stand straight. He could no longer stay here. He had to take Jia Molei and escape as soon as possible! Without even thinking, he lunged toward the closest man, who was distracted by the appearance of the motorboats, and hurled him toward his companion beside him!

A narrow path opened up in front of He Juan, yet before he could take a step—

BANG!

A bullet grazed his arm... only to land on the man who was prepared to pounce on him from behind.

BANG! BANG! BANG!

More gunshots sounded and each of them landed on the people around He Juan, not even touching him a bit. He Juan’s movement paused and his sluggish brain screeched to a halt. What was going on...?

"Damn," Ku Jin let out a soft curse when he realized what was happening, then he laughed. "This has gotten more interesting!"

The motorboats stopped over the steel platform and the men jumped up agilely, each of them was carrying a gun with them. "Boss XIU!" They called out toward He Juan with a grin, scanned the surroundings and spread themselves in a circle to surround the area. "We have come to aid you!"

"Boss!" One of them tossed their gun to He Juan, which He Juan scrambled to catch with clumsy movement. He Juan’s eyes were stretched wide as he stared at the man who had a vertical scar that ran through his left eye to his cheek. "You will need this!" The man shouted.

Wait, who... who are these people??!
