Blood Queen Reborn
Chapter 60: Chasing Screams
Once the bloodsucker was within his sight, Fex began running through the street.
Immediately, the bloodsucker chased after him, catching up fast, but Fex was ready.
As the bloodsucker rounded the corner, hot on Fex’s tail, he used his string to swing off into the distance, barely saving himself with seconds to spare. What the bloodsucker found instead was a swarm of creatures that didn’t smell like food.
They were a pack of rattaclaws, all attached to a lamp post, and in the way of the scent of blood. She roared in frustration as it pounced onto a rattaclaw, tearing its head off with her teeth. The other rattaclaws bit at it’s arms and legs, but she swiped its hand, slicing their torsos in half.

In mere seconds, the mini pack of rattaclaws were completely destroyed. Twisting its head towards the other pack of rattaclaws, the bloodsucker ran through them, ripping them apart like a truck running over road-kill.
That had given Fex enough time to run over to an underpass, and swing a bloodswipe at its pillar. He had specifically chosen to meet at this point as there were a ton of rocks right above, meaning when it collapsed, it would seal the entrance.
As the rocks fell, he saw the bloodsucker’s body sprinting towards him at full speed. Fex gulped, then turned around to continue running. There were a few more stops he had to get to. 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂
The rocks barely slowed down the bloodsucker as it easily broke through the rubble, but then Fex was suddenly out of sight. It paused for a moment, sniffing the air, before it bolted in the direction of where the vampire had gone.
"REEEEEEEKKKKKK!" It screamed.
The thought of satiating its hunger on blood was the only thing on its mind to the point where it had completely ignored the smell of a third creature nearby.
Right as the bloodsucker lunged towards Fex, the intermediate rattaclaw crashed into it, no longer bound by strings.
The rattaclaw bit at the bloodsucker, but she clawed at the beast, slashing against the rattaclaw’s torso. Then, the bloodsucker grabbed its face, and slammed it into the ground.
Standing up on two legs, the bloodsucker was about to turn away when the rattaclaw bit at it’s leg, and she screeched in pain.

Scrambling to get up, Fex watched as the two monsters duked it out in front of him.
’Crap— those strings weren’t enough to keep an intermediate tier,’ Fex worried, ’It might not hold Erin for long.’
Fex didn’t want to waste another moment, and jumped onto a building for a higher vantage point. This would give him some distance, as well as allow him to have a view of what was going on with Erin. He definitely didn’t want to lose track of her after this.
As he watched the bloodsucker Erin, and the intermediate tier rattaclaw fight each other, Fex mentally named the beast "King Rattaclaw."
The bloodsucker tackled the King Rattaclaw, but the beast clawed her chest in retaliation.

The bloodsucker recoiled in pain, before biting into its neck. The King Rattaclaw squealed, and, as if it were a king summoning its loyal knights, several basic tier rattaclaws came out of the woodwork, surrounding the two.
Realizing what was happening, the bloodsucker got off of its prey, and watched the pack of rattaclaws surrounding it charge in.
Individually, they were no match for it as the bloodsucker swiped its clawed hands at them, instantly decapitating the beasts. However, the sheer number of rattaclaws seemed to have no end.
"That’s way more than I found," Fex whispered to himself, shocked by the sight.
In his mind, it made him think that the King Rattaclaw had some sort of ability to summon others of its kind.
Just when the bloodsucker had swiped the heads of 3 beasts, 5 more would replace it, becoming impossible to overcome them all without getting hurt. A few managed to bite at the bloodsucker before it was able to kill them.

Sensing the opportunity, the King Rattaclaw waited until the bloodsucker’s back was free. Then, it leapt latching itself onto her shoulders by mouth.

The bloodsucker roared, then twisted its body around, trying to reach the intermediate beast. At the same time, she was swiping at the basic tier rattaclaws surrounding its legs. It was only when the bloodsucker managed to grip the beast, did it slam it into the ground, cracking the concrete as it did.
Then, the bloodsucker sprinted across the area, crushing the bodies of all the rattaclaws nearly instantly. Once the King Rattaclaw recovered, it leapt towards the bloodsucker only to get grabbed by the neck.
Lifting the beast to her mouth, the bloodsucker’s jaw unhinged and bit the head of the beast, tearing it off from its body.
Once he saw the King Rattaclaw felled by the mindless Erin, Fex knew it was time. There was only one place left to go, and he could only hope that Erin was softened enough by now.
Fex jumped down from the building, and threw a singular bloodswipe towards the monster. Immediately, the bloodsucker jolted out of the way of the attack, but Fex wasn’t intending for it to land, only to catch its attention.
Yet again, Fex sprinted to the old parking garage, and the bloodsucker followed. He jumped over some debris, then spotted a large crack in the ground, creating a massive pit. Shooting some string onto a building beyond the gaping hole, he jumped, pulling on the string to give him extra distance, then rolled upon landing on the other side.
Behind him was bloodsucker Erin, who had similarly leapt, but crashed upon the edge of the hole. It was able to climb itself back up, but once it did, Fex was nowhere to be spotted.
Crawling around, the bloodsucker began to sniff the air, searching for that sweet familiar taste again.
Then its head jolted in a specific direction. It followed the trail of the scent until it came across a concrete structure.
Coming across the structure, it lifted its clawed hand and punctured the concrete wall as if it was paper.
Tearing open the small hole, the bloodsucker crawled inside to smell that sweet aroma wafting around the large room, but the smell was directly concentrated at one specific point. Fex, holding the flask of blood.
"REEEKKKKK!"
The bloodsucker leaped towards Fex, but it got caught upon these nearly invisible strings. All throughout the wide open area, there were several pillars that had hundreds of string all attached to one another. It was like a spider’s web where you couldn’t move without getting slowed down on all of these thin little wires.
Again, it screamed, and began to claw at the strings. Meanwhile, Fex began running in circles. Everywhere he went, a string had followed him.
