Seoha’s POV

Morning light filters in through the blinds and I open my eyes slowly, waking out of my dreamless sleep.

I don’t know how we ended up in this position, but I’m completely lying on the alpha’s body on the too-small couch.

The couch is good enough for Minjae and I, but for an alpha that is almost twice my size, I just know it would be uncomfortable for him.

His arms are around my waist, keeping me locked to his body, and his nose is just inches away from my scent gland.

I lift my body slightly, trying to get some of my weight off him, especially with how I know of his hurting wrist.

"Don’t move" he says sleepily and I freeze as the big man presses me even closer to himself.

"Stay" he mutters with his morning voice and my omega purrs loudly as I relax completely on him.

Taesan lets out a breath of relief, running his palm up my back.

He’s still dressed in last night’s clothes and is wearing a scent patch, but I can smell him through it.

Even with the hint of sadness in his pheromones, I can smell his happiness, warm and soft.

Kang Taesan is happy with me, this realization makes me want to cry, it makes my omega howl with pride.

"I want to smell you" I whisper to him and he kisses the side of my head, huffing against temple.

"I know, just give me a bit of time" he murmurs, letting his lips move against my head, and I sigh deeply.

Soft...everything feels so soft and beautiful.

"How do you feel?" I ask, lifting my head to look in his face.

He looks so tired, like he has reverted to the Taesan I used to know, the one that hardly slept.

"Better" he says softly, still caressing my back like I would disappear if he stops.

"I sleep better with you" he confesses and I hide my face in his neck, blushing at the unexpected confession.

"How’s your wrist? Does anything hurt?" I ask and he shakes his head, smiling slightly at me, and goddess, my heart is fluttering.

Seeing his smile is rare, so this feels like...like he’s in love with me in a way I never expected.

"Seoha, I lo-"

"DAD!" Sooin’s squeal distracts the alpha from completing his words and we both manage to sit up before she jumps on him.

"Dad!" she says, sitting in his lap and looking up at him with complete adoration.

"Hi baby" Taesan says, hugging Sooin...his daughter to his chest.

As if last night never happened, he peppers her little face with kisses, making her giggle, and I sit there, watching them with wet eyes.

"Dad, where did you go? I missed you" she says, pouting at him, and Taesan tickles her side, showing me a part of himself that I have never seen before.

"I went to slay a dragon for you, princess" he says and Sooin gasps.

"NO!" she yells with childish anger.

"Why not?" Taesan asks in confusion.

"Dad you’re no longer my friend" she says and gets off her father’s lap to sit in mine.

"Why, why? What did I do?" Taesan asks, his voice sounds higher than I have ever heard.

So this Kang Taesan...the father who loves his daughter to the end of the world, the father who will do anything for his little girl...

"Only the princess’s prince is allowed to slay her dragon you...man" Minjae says from the door.

I don’t even want to know what he was about to call Taesan before he said ’Man’

"I am Sooin’s prince" Taesan scowls at Minjae and Minjae makes a face at him, lifting his hand in a fake punch.

"Her prince is her boyfriend" Minjae says and I clench my teeth, cringing at them.

"My daughter doesn’t have a boyfriend" Taesan says.

"I do!" Sooin speaks for herself and her father looks horrified. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

"Good morning, everyone" Jisu says from the door, briefly putting the tension on hold as she smiles brightly, she doesn’t look like she slept on a mat overnight.

"Unnnie, dad is not my friend" Sooin announces to the lady, and Jisu starts to laugh.

"You don’t have a boyfriend" Taesan says again, turning to face Sooin this time, and the pup blows raspberry at her dad.

"I do!" she argues.

"Wait a minute...why are you here?" Minjae points his spoon of peanut butter at Taesan.

"Why?" Taesan asks him and I give Minjae a glare, "he came to see his daughter" I say defensively.

"Whatever, Jisu come let’s make breakfast for those sinners" Minjae says sassily, rolling his eyes for dramatic effect.

"Me too daddy, I want to cook with Uncle Minnie" Sooin says with excitement and I let her out of my lap.

Once Taesan and I are alone on the couch, the alpha gives me that small smile that wakes the butterflies in my stomach.

"I have to leave now" he says.

"Will you stay and eat breakfast with us?" I ask softly and he presses a kiss on my forehead.

"No, I have things to sort at the company" he says with his lips hovering over my forehead.

"You aren’t burning up anymore" he asks and I press the back of my hand to my neck, my temperature feels normal.

"I don’t feel dizzy too" I notice, I guess all I needed was the alpha...right?

"That’s a relief" he says and gets off the couch.

He’s still dressed in all black, still looks terrifying, but Sooin giggles at him.

"Dad is cute!" she exclaims from the small kitchen and Minjae shakes his head, "cute indeed" he mutters under his breath.

"Hater" Jisu giggles, earning an air punch from the pregnant omega man.

"I’ll see you, don’t come to work till you feel completely better" Taesan orders and when I open my mouth to argue, he shuts me up with a kiss.

"THAT’S NOT HOW COURTING WORKS YOU HEATHENS" Minjae yells from the kitchen over Sooin singing, "Daddy and dad in the house, k-i-s-s-i-n-g" and Jisu’s fangirling squeals.
