Chapter 263: Ch 263: Taking Shuu back - Part 3

Shuu was still just as light as before. Kaiden pulled his body into his arms and started to walk back toward the exit.

But the exit was nowhere to be found when he got back. The space had swallowed the exit, and he could tell that trying to break the dimension from where he was standing was likely not a feasible option.

"Looks like the trick is a useful one to trap us in here. But that’s fine. If I cannot use this exit, I will find a new one."

The dungeon had an exit, and it was where Kaiden could sense monsters gathering. It was time for him to fight his way through.

His body was starting to protest, wanting relief of some kind. It was a fatigue that was unique to this world, and for the first time, Kaiden started to experience symptoms of an esper’s toxin.

"It must be the unique presence of this place that is making my body feel heavier than it actually is. This is a bad feeling, and I can see why people easily lose their minds over such a thing."

But Kaiden was not ordinary. He pushed through the feeling, but a small amount of that toxin still radiated from his skin.

Shuu’s brows furrowed, and Kaiden noticed the small sigh escaping his mouth before a cooling feeling started to fill his body. It felt nice and comfortable, like gentle hands guiding him to sleep.

A small part of Kaiden knew what this was already. His instincts as an esper were telling him that he was being guided by a strong and compatible guide.

"Well, I don’t think I should have expected you to awaken as a guide for our sake. Even Rin manifested as an esper, so your body must have taken it as a sign that it needed to help. You never cease to amaze me, honey. I hope you wake up soon."

Kaiden told Shuu as he walked past the debris of the dungeon. It was only a matter of time before he could be free and back with his people.

A few more monsters tried to stop him, but he easily bullied his way past them and headed toward the exit. It was open, and monsters were pouring out from the open door.

"Oh well-! It’s time to get rid of this dungeon once and for all. Honey, I will be counting on you to keep me safe and sane once I use my powers."

Kaiden whispered to Shuu as he raised his hand. The space began to tear itself apart, and the monsters started to break down around him.

Grrrr

Monsters noticed him a little too late, but they tried to grab him as soon as they noticed him. However, it was already too late. The space around them was quickly becoming a void of nothing.

"Let’s never meet again. I am not into seeing ugly things."

Kaiden waved his arms as a sign of goodbye and exited the dungeon. It exploded behind him before the dungeon closed.

Everyone looked at Kaiden with shocked expressions on their faces. They had never seen someone close a dungeon this fast or effectively. It was a testament to how strong Kaiden was.

But at the same time, it also showed just how dangerous he was. He was not someone people wanted to have as an enemy.

There was silence around the clearing for a whole minute before Secretary Ann and Kris moved. They quickly approached Kaiden, but their eyes were on Shuu, who slept in his arms.

"Sir, thank you for saving my fellow secretary. You will be well compensated for your efforts. We will also take our guild member back now so that I can look after him better. Kris, grab Shuu-"

Kaiden’s grip tightened around Shuu, and he gave the pair in front of him a glare. He was not going to let Shuu go. Not now and not ever.

His actions made everyone pause and look at him in shocked wonder. But the one who was most troubled was Secretary Ann.

Secretary Ann was already a little moody today due to the dungeon and monsters. He was not in the mood to deal with an esper as well. So he decided to handle the situation before it could get worse.

"Sir, this behaviour is not acceptable. If you are hoping to exchange Shuu’s safety for guidance from me, then I will have to stop you there and tell you that it’s a crime. I will report you for doing such a thing."

Everyone was watching this exchange now, but Secretary Ann kept a straight face, not showing any emotion. Most espers would have folded then and there and done as he asked.

But Kaiden was different. His eyes looked blank and filled with annoyance. It was clear that he did not think favourably of Secretary Ann and the situation.

It also did not seem like he wanted something from Secretary Ann.

’This esper...feels different. Most of them would have folded by now and decided to give in to Secretary Ann’s demand. The faint guiding waves he was letting out would make espers drop their guard against him.

But Kaiden was different. He was not only not interested, but the pressure he was letting out also felt like it would choke anyone at any point.’

And Secretary Ann was not the only one who felt on edge. Kris stood close to him to make sure Kaiden wouldn’t pull anything strange. He kept his eyes on Kaiden to see what would happen next.

Out of everyone, Caelis was the first to approach Kaiden along with Rin. The kids grabbed his shirt and tugged at it.

"Is it time to go home?"

Caelis asked, and Kaiden finally nodded. His grip on Shuu became stronger, and he turned around to walk out.

"Yes, it is time for us to go home. If you have any complaints, you can contact my guild. I will reply if I think it is important."

Kaiden told them all, and with Shuu in his arms, he started to walk away.
