[BL]The Hero and his Party Won't Let Me Go - Chapter 261: Ch : Taking Shuu back - Part 1
Silence followed Kaiden’s actions, and at first, no one seemed to know what they should do. They were stuck in the place with no way to know what would happen next.
At such a crucial time, Secretary Ann was reminded once more that he had a duty to lead people, and he snapped out of his daze to look around at the people surrounding him.
"Everyone, we need to make a defensive cover around this dungeon. We are the last line of defense in case something happens inside. Those who can still move should help out, and those espers that feel sick, come to me and I will guide you."
A lot of espers looked relieved to have a high-class guide among them. It reassured them that using their power was fine.
This also made Secretary Ann feel better. He liked having people depend on him because that meant that there were fewer chances of him getting abandoned by the people. He needed that kind of reassurance.
For now, he wanted to help Caelis out, so he reached toward the kid to guide him. But Caelis moved away from him and gave him an annoyed shrug.
"If you want to give charity, then give it to someone else who needs it more. I am fine now."
And Caelis did look fine. His complexion looked better than before, and any sign of fatigue had washed away from his face. It almost looked like he had been guided by someone. But the only person who had touched Caelis was Shuu and Kris.
It was likely not safe for Caelis to be up and participating in the defense fight, but Rin seemed to believe Caelis and stood beside him. With that, the decision had been made for the secretary.
"Alright everyone, get in formation. We need to stop this corruption before it reaches us."
And with that, everyone started to fight against the monsters that had started to come out of the dungeon.
__________
"What an annoying place. I can feel that cursed divine influence everywhere around me."
Kaiden complained as he walked through the messy corridor. It felt like the world was squeezing around him, and Kaiden kept pushing against the power squeezing him.
It was not hard for him to move forward and ignore this power. Despite its intensity, it was not that strong, nor was it actively trying to expel him either.
It just...made it a little uncomfortable for Kaiden to use his powers.
"Tsk, you all cowards. Are you not going to come out and fight me?"
Kaiden asked as he looked around his surroundings in a challenging manner. But the monsters looked shocked and decided to pull back. His presence was making them fear coming out.
"That’s good. You all seem to have a brain, so you all get to live another day. I hope you will be just as careful with me in the future as well."
Kaiden spoke softly, but the monsters kept backing away from him, almost as if they had not heard a word he had said to them, but were still too scared to come out and do anything.
These monsters did not come out, and Kaiden did not have time to go after them either. He kept walking toward the weak presence he was following until he reached the inner chamber. Shuu was just beyond this wall, and all Kaiden had to do was break the surface and get him out.
Finally, the monster’s presence he had been feeling until now started to step out and stop him.
Time was of the essence here. Who knew what could happen to Shuu again and where he could go? It was a risk that Kaiden was not going to take again. So he readied his weapon and looked at the monsters in front of him.
"You all are cowards. You can gang up on me like this? Where are your manners?"
Kaiden asked, but he did not get a response. Not that he needed any at the moment. His cocky smirk showed his current attitude—of not caring who his opponent was. As long as he got what he wanted, he did not care what he had to do to achieve it.
The monsters attacked one by one, but they got one-shotted by Kaiden before they could make it too close to him.
It was a one-sided bloodbath where Kaiden relieved his stress, and no one could do anything about it.
The ground was becoming more of the monster corpses and less of an actual ground. Soon, it would become impossible to take a step and not hit a monster corpse.
Kaiden took care of the first wave easily, and the second one hesitated, not wanting to die at the hands of this monster.
"What’s wrong? You can’t bring yourself to attack me? I should have expected nothing less from cowards like you."
Kaiden taunted, and the monsters felt instinctive fear and started to run for their lives. Kaiden did not bother chasing after them and instead used his sword to break the cocoon open.
Shuu’s face was the first thing he saw. Those beautiful eyes were closed, and Kaiden quickly dragged Shuu out of the cocoon.
The guide was covered in various kinds of fluids that could not be good for his health, but a quick scan showed that Shuu was fine...at least physically he was fine. Who knew what his current mental state was.
But since he was fine and back in Kaiden’s arms, it was time for them to get back.
This time, the monsters did not bother blocking Kaiden’s way, and he easily made it to the boss room. The boss was not strong either, and it made it far too easy for Kaiden to kill him.
The dungeon instantly started to collapse once the boss went down, and the exit appeared in front of Kaiden. He stepped inside and was out on the other side of the portal.
Everyone gasped as they saw him appear with Shuu in his arms, and they swarmed him like flies, wanting to take Shuu away from him.
