Chapter 397: 397: So it goes..

FEW DAYS LATER.

====

Eden slowly opened his eyes as he felt hot tears lingering at the corners of his eyes. He didn’t know if he was crying while sleeping or in his dreams, but that didn’t seem to matter.

Eden stared up at the blurry ceiling that slowly cleared up. He could see the familiar ceiling pattern, one he recalled spending a decent amount of time staring at.

It was the ceiling of his room in Elvis’s mansion. Eden smiled. He was back to a place he recalled starting off at. Somewhere that felt familiar enough to feel like home.

He slowly smiled as he sat up. Lenny was beside him.

"You’re finally awake!" Lenny lit up with a smile as he came to sit close beside him in his cat form.

Eden sat up in bed, turning to him with a nod. "Yes, I am." He yawned as he looked around. "What happened...? How long have I been sleeping?"

"You’ve been asleep for over a week now!" Lenny said as Eden stared at him, shocked.

"Huh? A week?"

Lenny nodded. "Mmhm. They said you fainted after the fight, and they brought you home. You were tested, and everything seemed fine. You just needed to rest, and then you’d wake up normally. So we left you to rest. But I was worried since you’d been sleeping for ages now. I’m glad you’re awake."

Eden smiled as he patted his head. "Good boy." He said as he looked around. "So... are you fine?"

"Huh? Me? Why ask? Fine from what?"

Eden stared at him. "You were crying so badly that day after losing him... are you fine now?"

There was a heavily confused expression on Lenny’s face. "Huh? Me? Crying? Why the hell would I do that?"

Lenny genuinely didn’t remember anything, no matter how Eden tried asking. And at that moment, Eden paused and thought. Then he let out a soft smile. Then he muttered to himself, "He made him forget everything... that’s how much he likes him, I guess." He shook his head as he said to Lenny, "Nothing. I was just messing with you."

Lenny pouted. "Better for you. Because why would I be crying over a man? I’m not like that."

Eden smiled with a nod. "Sure, sure. Our Lenny is not like that at all." He looked around. "So what’s happening now? Update me."

Lenny cleared his throat as he briefed him:

"Well, while you were asleep, the palace went back to normal."

"The real emperor was saved and healed, all thanks to your energy. And the mess was rebuilt quickly as well. So now Cordelia has gone back to stay with her family."

"The emperor, empress, and their royal daughter are now a happy family again. They were so extremely grateful to you that they invited you for an award, but you were still unconscious, so your husbands went for you."

"But the emperor said that once you’re awake, you should visit."

"And, the emperor also made a public announcement into law. He said that from then henceforth, you’re no longer a wanted evil monster. But rather, you’re a royal and national treasure. The hero and savior of all. A legend to be respected by all. He’s also considering making you a god."

Eden smiled. "What? A god?"

Lenny nodded. "Yeah. He’s really grateful to you."

Eden smiled with a nod. "I guess I’m no longer the villain of the story anymore."

Lenny continued, "And Helen also left for the palace. The emperor felt bad for what Kyle made him do to her people, so he decided to compensate her and give her royal work at the palace. Now Helen and Cordelia stay at the palace. They also left you a letter. You can read it when you’re ready. And they’ll also be visiting when you’re awake."

Eden smiled. He was glad Helen was able to get the justice she deserved and also the happy ending she should get. He was happy the imperial family was restored.

He smiled as he asked, "So? What about my husbands?"

"They went out today, though. They all stay here now because you’re here. And Queen Elizabeth is really happy accommodating them all. Even though they can be dramatic while taking care of you and clash heads from time to time, they’re good, I guess."

Eden smiled.

At that moment, Lenny recalled something and said, "And yes! Before I forget, I guess it’s the perfect timing that you’re awake now."

Eden stared at his panicked expression. "What?"

"It’s Felix. He left just today." He explained. "I don’t know what’s wrong with him, but he said it’s best to leave you forever for your safety. So he just left... he won’t listen to me or to Queen Elizabeth. We can’t stop him."

Immediately, Eden gasped. "What?"

Lenny nodded. "Exactly. So go and bring him back before he actually leaves for good. He wouldn’t tell anyone where he was going. But I think he’s leaving farther than the previous time."

Eden didn’t necessarily wait for him to finish his sentence. He quickly brushed off the bedsheet around his body and rushed out of the room.

He was running so fast that he forgot his shoes.

"Your shoes!" Lenny yelled as he came back and picked them up. And immediately rushed off again.

He ran as fast as he could, running down the stairs and through the dining room.

Queen Elizabeth and some of the maids were preparing breakfast when they caught sight of him running. Queen Elizabeth was shocked to see him already awake.

"Hey... where are you going...?!" She wanted to call, but Eden had already run out through the door, making his way to look for Felix.

Queen Elizabeth stood there in silence with the maid, staring as he left. They all blinked and stared at each other as Queen Elizabeth smiled with a soft laugh.

"That boy, always full of chaos." She shook her head. "At least he’s awake now. That’s what matters now, I guess." She smiled as she continued setting up the table with the rest.
