Chapter 389: 389: Reverse

"You should end this madness already! Stop risking your life for this! It’s not worth it!" Kyle snapped, holding onto his shield while struggling to stay stable. Blood dripped from his lips as he pushed forward.

"Let’s end it..." Eden said, pushing his sword. "Let’s just..." Eden let out a loud scream as he used all his strength to push through the sword.

The massive purple energy from his sword gave a blast as his sword flew from his hands and flew toward Kyle. The energy counteracted and sent Eden flying backward through the air.

Kyle broke through his portal, sending Eden’s energy attack into the sky as he stretched out his hand and caught his sword.

While holding onto the sword, he felt the spark run through his veins, but he held it firmly as he stared at Eden, who caught himself halfway through the air.

Eden stared in his direction. "Give me back my sword... you can’t..." He coughed. "You can’t have it."

But Kyle scoffed. "Why? What are you scared of? That I won’t be able to make good use of it?" He smiled as he stared down at the people still fighting the zombies.

He smiled. "You wanted to protect them so badly, right? That you even sacrificed your core for it?" He laughed. "Does it make sense? To sacrifice anything for these weak humans? These unreliable jerks?"

"We were once humans too... like them," Eden said.

"But I’m not anymore. I don’t want to be." He stared at Eden as he smiled. "But it’s still interesting how you won’t let them be..."

Kyle slowly nodded as he stared at the sword. Holding the sword wasn’t good for him. It was opposing his energy, so the sword was sending minor damage through his body. But Kyle still held onto it.

He smiled as he said, "Since you’re protecting them, I’d like to see what it’s going to feel like if they die under your power core." He stared at Eden as he spoke. "Wouldn’t that be interesting? The people you love and want to protect dying by your powers? I’d like to see that happen. Maybe after that, you’ll wake up from your delusions."

Eden’s expression was pale as he glared at him. "What the hell do you think you want to do...?" He was about to approach, but Kyle used his powers to hold him firm.

Eden was webbed, standing in the same position without moving even while struggling. "Let go of me! Let go! Don’t do anything stupid! Hey! You’ll also be harming yourself if you try using my sword! Hey!"

But Kyle simply smiled, staring at the sword. "Does it look like I care? I’ve already used my essence. I might as well die anytime soon." He stared at Eden. "But it’ll be interesting to watch the people you love be destroyed under your own power. How ironic, huh?" He laughed hard as Eden glared at him, speechless.

Eden struggled to break free and stop him, but to no avail. The web Kyle tied him up with held firmly onto him no matter how much he tried.

"Don’t!" Eden cried, but to no avail. Kyle turned down to the people as he raised the sword. The energy from the sword was piercing through him, shattering him from the inside. The symptoms were there: his skin was breaking with dark lines. But he didn’t care.

Kyle activated the sword with his blood and descended its energy down on the people fighting. He used his strength to do so even though it meant killing himself. The black line crack had appeared on his neck, slowly creeping up his skin. He was losing himself slowly.

But he smiled, watching as the purple light descended on the people below, ready to destroy everything. The damage it would make wouldn’t end here. The damage would destroy everyone there and move forward to destroy almost everyone and everything in the capital city. And Kyle was willing to watch that happen.

He watched as the purple light descended and slowly began tearing the zombies into dust first. They were the first to die, all puffing into dust as the purple light touched them.

And for the humans, they were slowly feeling dizzy and weak. Adrian staggered as Lysander fell to his knees. Elvis, who tried helping him up, also felt dizzy.

Everyone was feeling the same way: dizzy and weak as though they were about to break down and go unconscious. No matter how they tried, they couldn’t fight it.

Lenny was also feeling that way slightly. He was getting dizzy.

Everyone looked up to understand what was happening, but their vision had grown too dizzy to even see or understand.

"No... no... no!" Eden struggled to break free, crying. But nothing.

Kyle smiled. "See, so useless. Why bother even fighting for them?" He said, watching it slowly take effect on them while he himself slowly cracked with dark lines.

But suddenly, the effects of the purple light stopped. There was another energy floating through the air.

A red energy surrounded the atmosphere. And as though it was draining the effects of the light, everything started disappearing into thin air.

The air was changing from the purple light to red dust, and the dust was unstable. It was as though this dust was struggling to gain balance. But it struggled its best to clear the air of the poison.

It didn’t take too long before the red dust had cleared the purple light and everyone went back to normal.

Kyle stared down in shock. "What... what was that?"

Eden stared too. He didn’t understand what was happening.

But Kyle had already made up his mind that it had something to do with Eden.

Kyle shook his head. "No..." He stared at his hands and watched himself crack. "How can you still be so... I can’t be... no..."

His powers had grown too weak to even hold Eden in webs. Immediately, Eden shattered the dark webs holding him and broke free.
