The moment Huang Qi emerged, she took on all the pressure coming from Sixth's vita and the Mayfly Brainlord, finally allowing Tianming and Zi Zhen to catch their breath. Tianming was doing fine and hadn't been too badly injured, whereas Zi Zhen had returned to her human form and slumped into his embrace, face completely pale and glowing much dimmer than before.

"Good work. It must've been tough," Tianming said, feeling hurt for her. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶

"Enough with the pointless words. Since you trust Little Fish so much, I want you to trust me too," she said, looking at him with some contempt in her eyes. She was still jealous even in a situation like this.

"Bringing you here is the biggest sign that I trust you," Tianming earnestly said.

"Fine. Then..." She turned nervously to look at Huang Qi, who was fighting the Mayfly Brainlord. "Looks like we had no choice but to take the gamble."

The skypole stars wouldn't work on incomprehensibly powerful beings like the Mayfly Brainlord or Huang Qi, so it was a gamble through and through. With Huang Qi freed, Tianming was in the greatest danger he had been for a while.

"At the very least, we have a way to deal with Huang Qi, but we have no way to deal with the Mayfly Brainlord. If I had to pick, I'd pick Huang Qi." Tianming took Zi Zhen with him to the sidelines.

Huang Qi's powers weren't just limited to the soul. She could also tap into aeternal source. The Mayfly Brainlord, on the other hand, only had soul power. The reason it feared Huang Qi was that its brainwaves alone wouldn't be able to take her down, while she could take the brunt of the soul attacks as she tore through the ranks of the mayfly divinities.

"Die! Die! Die!" The insect-head people of all forms joined Huang Qi in massacring the mayfly divinities desperately.

"This must be a sign that the Mayfly Brainlord's rule over the other insect people built up quite a bit of resentment during Huang Qi's absence," Tianming said. He had wanted to see both sides injured from the fighting, but Huang Qi's explosive performance shattered Tianming's fantasy. She was both good at single combat and defensive fights.

War broke out across the entire Sea of Aeternity. Tianming wasn't sure how many forces were fighting amidst the storms of aeternal source. There were far too many for him to count. The undying aeternals were incredibly good at proliferating. Tianming wouldn't be surprised if their combined forces that were above ten meters in size far outnumbered that of the Upper Star Ruin.

Having backed far away, Tianming watched as the storm left destruction in its wake. He didn't know to what extent the fight between Huang Qi and the Mayfly Brainlord had progressed. All he could see was that more and more insect-heads gathered nearby while the number of mayfly divinities dwindled. The insect-head people constantly chanted 'ruler' as they went on their mad slaughter, displaying prowess that far surpassed Tianming's imagination.

In the beginning, the insect-people had seemed to be meek sheep, yet they had managed to turn into a fighting force at the drop of the hat. There was no way humans or specters could switch gears that fast. Perhaps this was due to their insect nature, filled with ruthless efficiency and obedience.

No doubt, much of it was thanks to Huang Qi's instigation. The years of playing the fool by Tianming's side did not dull her savagery one bit. It was clear who her target would be once she dealt with the Mayfly Brainlord.

In fact, she had already tasked many insectoids to cut off Tianming's escape route. Much to her surprise, however, Tianming didn't even bother to leave and merely watched things unfold in silence.

The battlefield ahead was filled with endless blood and gore. As the insectoids sped up, the mayfly divinities were no longer able to keep up to protect the Brainlord. They were just one group, while they faced the combined might of all other insectoids. Being able to use only soul attacks, they were easily torn apart in close quarters. The other insectoids vented their years of pent-up rage and resentment in this moment, tearing wildly at any mayfly divinity they could find and devouring them live.

Eventually, the Sea of Aeternity was dyed blood red. More and more insectoids surrounded Tianming, seemingly telegraphing the advantage Huang Qi was gaining over the Mayfly Brainlord. It was also a sign that Sixth's vita was no longer able to hold up. Even so, Tianming didn't worry since there was no way for the vita to die. The worst it would experience was some heavy setback and swallow its massive ego.

At the very end, a bloody hole could be seen by Tianming far ahead. Through it, a woman with a gigantic bloody bee head could be seen. Everything else under the head appeared smoking hot and perfectly sculpted, but the savage compound eyes, mandibles and feelers on the head sent chills down Tianming's seventh astral organ.

"Darn it, that cursed monster!" This only validated his reluctance to let Huang Qi out. He only did so because he couldn't afford to let Sixth's vita continue to roam about away from him, but he wasn't counting on Huang Qi to show him mercy. It didn't seem like any of the Aeternal Beings would bother to spare him.

The Mayfly Brainlord let out a final shriek that spread across the entire sea.

"Brain bug, you've lived for far too long. You're not an Aeternal Being, yet you dared to ambush us while we were in a weakened state! You reap why you sow. Now, I will devour you like jelly!" Huang Qi truly hated the Mayfly Brainlord far more than Tianming did. Though it used to be by her side, it had caused her countless years of pain.

The Mayfly Brainlord screamed and cried for mercy, broadcasting powerful brainwaves nonstop, killing even more insectoids in the process. However, they didn't reach Tianming and Zi Zhen.

There was already nothing it could do. Tianming watched as a straw-like object emerged between Huang Qi's mandibles like a mosquito's proboscis, an appendage used for sucking. She jabbed it into the body of the Mayfly Brainlord and sucked with abandon, causing it to shriek as its brain matter was drained away like jelly into Huang Qi's mouth. It was so disgusting a sight that Tianming felt like puking.
