Chapter 4343 - The Runaway Child

“So you mean this Mayfly Brainlord is even stronger?” If this place was the universe’s brain, then this Mayfly Brainlord was very likely the largest brain parasite living here.

Imperatores were only a hundred thousand meters tall, yet this thing was a million meters in size.

“It’s hard to say. I can still feel a faint sense of our power... But I think that brat never wanted to enter the Sea of Aeternity, and it was definitely because of this Mayfly Brainlord. Now that it’s up against you, it must have made some kind of sacrifice.” Bai Ling spoke coldly and disdainfully.

“So we’ve pushed it this far already?” Tianming felt speechless. It was one of his Primordial Chaos Beasts, yet somehow things had escalated to the point where it threatened him with death. He truly found that hard to accept.

He had always wanted to build a harmonious, happy family where people and beasts lived joyfully together, but Sixth's vita had always been a rebel in that home.

“Should we pull back?” Ying Huo asked.

Tianming drew a deep breath, stared ahead, and said, “We’re already here. If we retreat now, I don’t know whether it’ll fall even deeper. We’ll only grow more distant. I have a responsibility to bring it home and protect it, rather than to let it drift further and further away from everyone.”

“The problem is, it doesn’t think returning to you is a good thing,” Ying Huo said helplessly.

“Runaway kids all rebel. Their brains don’t work right. If it won’t listen, I’ll beat some sense into it. Once it’s happy and living well again, it’ll understand I’ve never treated it poorly.” No matter what, he would drag this rebellious child home first.

“Exactly. If that little vita could make it on its own, we’d have nothing to say. But the moment it left Little Li, it became useless. It skulks around, and now it’s even being dominated by the Mayfly Brainlord. What’s the point of this miserable and embarrassing existence? Just stop trying.” Bai Ye curled his lip.

“You’re sure it’s in bad condition right now?” Tianming asked.

Bai Ye pointed ahead and said, “Right there. All I sense is that insect’s disgusting soul power. The creature is terrifying. It’s basically parasitizing the vita.”

Sixth’s vita had parasitized the bee-head people, but the Mayfly Brainlord had parasitized it in turn.

“Shut up!” the bee-head people snapped fiercely at Bai Ye when they heard this.

Tianming shook his head and said, “I really thought you had some ability, but in the end you just sold your body and let someone treat you like a puppet. You gained this power by letting others use you, just to destroy me? What benefit does that give you?”

Sixth's vita shouted furiously, “Only by killing you can we Primordial Chaos Beasts gain freedom! Freedom is priceless! We are saving them!”

Ying Huo rolled his eyes. “Idiot. You’re the only one who isn’t free. We’re very free. We can poop on Little Li’s head anytime.”

“Heh.” The bee-head people sneered. “You pitiful fools who’ve been brainwashed don’t even know what freedom is. You think you’re worthy to speak to me?”

“Bro, look at yourself,” Ying Huo retorted bluntly. “This is your idea of freedom? Your brain’s been eaten too, hasn’t it? look at your brothers and sisters, we’re doing awesome. You insisting we’re suffering just proves you don’t see us as family at all. You think we can’t judge fpr purse;ves? Who’s lying to themselves here? You’re a Celestial Sourcepath Progenitor. Yet you’ve fallen to this. What a disgrace.”

“Well said,” Meow Meow added. “We’ve fought and enjoyed life with Little Li side-by-side for years. It’s a symbiotic relationship. We help each other grow, our hearts beating as one. And you call that slavery? Can’t you face reality? You’re the one whose body’s been hollowed out by outsiders, you fool!”

“Shut up!” Tens of thousands of bee-head people roared in unison. Perhaps the agitation was too much, as their heads suddenly burst open, and all of them died on the spot.

When their corpses fell, the view ahead finally became clear. It was the region where aeternal source raged most violently. Countless translucent bubble-like spheres churned inside a giant pool. At the depths of that pool roiled thick, yellowish fog. A brain-shaped creature lurked within, letting out strange cries that manifested as yellow lightning pulsing in the fog.

The creature slowly rose from the depths of the bubble pool and appeared before Tianming. Its outer layer resembled white clouds, obviously Sixth’s vita’s infant souls. Its inside consisted of countless yellowish brain-bubbles, like clusters of insect eggs tightly packed inside Sixth’s body.

Countless eyes sprouted from those brain-bubbles, staring at Tianming with icy malice, laughing eerily. “Beautiful! beautiful!”

The sound resembled a sheep’s bleating sounds, and Tianming’s ears had a disgusting feeling as if insects were wriggling inside them.

“This thing is the traitor that took your place while you were weak? The current emperor of the Sea of Aeternity?” Tianming asked Huang Qi inside the ring.

“It’s at least ten million years old, one of the oldest creatures in this universe. Its methods are impressive. Take your time and enjoy them. Call me when you can’t hold out anymore.” Huang Qi laughed smugly.
