Daily business, Brother Ma keeps an eye on the surveillance cameras all day. If he catches an angler breaking the rules, the fine starts at two thousand. Such severe punishment is unique nationwide in the black fishing pits.

But in all these years of operation, there has never been a mishap. When it gets to the police station, the anglers breaking the rules lose out, because Brother Ma always has evidence in hand.

Over time, the rules have been firmly established. Regular anglers who visit know better than to break them, thanks largely to Brother Ma's cameras.

After the weigh-in, Zhang Yang hurriedly packed up his fishing gear. His assistant, Xiao Zhang, helped him carry the gear to the parking spot, where they first loaded it into the car.

Because of the competition, Zhang Yang wasn't able to have lunch. After a day of intense fishing, his stomach was grumbling with hunger.

However, food had been prepared for the assistant and the staff in advance, and Xiao Zhang magically produced two tightly wrapped lunchboxes.

"Boss, would you like to have a bite? Feeling hungry?" Xiao Zhang also took out a pair of unopened chopsticks from a plastic bag and handed them to Zhang Yang.

"Damn it, now that you mention it, I am indeed starving! Having just three tea eggs for breakfast can't withstand today's battle!" Zhang Yang didn't stand on ceremony, opening the lunchboxes, unwrapping the chopsticks, and digging in heartily.

Working hard at fishing, Zhang Yang ate just as energetically. The lunchboxes were already cold, but he didn't mind, swiftly devouring one before quickly finishing the second.

"Burp..." After demolishing the two lunchboxes, Zhang Yang let out a satisfied belch.

"Here, drink some water!" Xiao Zhang handed over a bottle of Wahaha.

Not being polite, Zhang Yang took the bottled water, unscrewed the cap, and gulped down a good half of it. He leaned against the passenger seat and swept his gaze over to the shoreline where a few people hadn't finished weighing in their catch.

As Zhang Yang leisurely rested, a group of people gathered for unknown reasons near the East Bank.

"What's going on out there?" Zhang Yang glanced curiously and casually asked.

"Don't know, maybe an angler broke the record in weighing their fish!" Xiao Zhang casually guessed.

While they were chatting, Zhang Yang's phone rang.

It was Xiao Wei.

Zhang Yang instantly answered, and before he could speak, Xiao Wei's voice, tinged with crying, came through the phone.

"Zhang Yang, where are you? Some creep is harassing me!"

Upon hearing his wife's voice, Zhang Yang quickly sat upright from his seat.

"Where are you? I'll be right there!"

"East Bank, at fishing spot 42. Some disgusting jerk wants my WeChat but I refused, and now he's being inappropriate and getting handsy!"

"I'm on my way!"

Without hesitation, Zhang Yang hung up the phone and called out to Xiao Zhang: "Let's go! Xiao Wei is being harassed!"

Stepping out of the car, Zhang Yang dashed over, the fatigue from the competition instantly forgotten.

Mere moments ago, he was wondering why people had gathered; now he realized his girlfriend was being harassed. Talk about getting involved directly.

When Zhang Yang got closer, he saw Xiao Wei's temporary assistant, Taotao, had a clear handprint on his face, while Xiao Wei was holding onto the jerk's clothes and refusing to let go.

"Hit people and think you can run away? No way! Taotao, call the police!" Xiao Wei's eyes were red, but she still seemed relatively calm.

"Let go, you bitch, I gave you some face and you're putting on airs!" the rotund fellow impatiently said, swinging hard and nearly knocking Xiao Wei over.

Xiao Wei stayed calm, but Zhang Yang did not.

Parting the crowd that was in his way, Zhang Yang made his way directly in front of Xiao Wei.

His girlfriend had almost been knocked over right in front of him, leaving Zhang Yang unable to suppress his anger despite his usual composure.

Without uttering a word, Zhang Yang charged forward, aiming a swift kick at the greasy fatso's crotch.

"Ouch!" The fat guy got overwhelmed by the sneak attack, clutching his groin in pain and crouching down.

Zhang Yang wasn't finished yet and delivered a direct kick to the fat guy's face.

Zhang Yang's kick may not compare to a professional's, but it was more than sufficient to deal with such a bully. The kick resulted in the guy's face bleeding, and he crouched on the ground wailing.

"Damn, who the hell are you? Tired of living? Believe me, one phone call and you'll never leave Tianjin!"

Another companion of the fat guy tried to intimidate Zhang Yang, but his voice was shaky.

Zhang Yang shot him a sharp glance, scaring him into immediate silence.

Having taken control of the situation, Zhang Yang then turned and asked, "What's going on here? What about the handprint on Taotao's face? Who did it?"

With tears in her eyes, Xiao Wei grabbed Zhang Yang's arm and said, "This fat guy sat next to me during the competition, kept bothering me nonstop.

After weighing the fish, he came over again asking for my phone number and WeChat. When I refused, he started cursing! Taotao stood in front trying to protect me and got slapped!

Taotao, call the police! If no one does anything, I'll call my dad!!"

Xiao Wei explained the whole story in front of the onlookers, which made Zhang Yang clench his fists once more.

Even though he was angry, having kicked twice, Zhang Yang had already vented most of his frustration.

He had regained his composure and extinguished any thoughts of taking further action.

"Don't rush to call the police, I'll handle it!"

Saying this, Zhang Yang pulled out his phone and called Ma Yuguo, the owner of Jinghai Garden.

From several dozen meters away, they could hear a loudspeaker playing the tune "Sister, you sit at the boat's head, brother, I walk along the shore..."

"What's going on here?" Brother Ma didn't pick up the phone but soon arrived at Zhang Yang's side.

"Brother Ma, during your competition, this fat guy harassed my wife and hit my brother! Handle it if you can, if not, then I'll figure something out!"

Zhang Yang, breaking his usual calm demeanor, spoke with a cold tone.

"Zhu Wenchao, are you messing with me today? I can take care of this. Everyone involved, come to my office!

I guarantee you'll get an explanation! The rest, get lost, go on about your business!"

Despite his usual slack and nonchalant demeanor, when serious, Brother Ma had an equally formidable presence.

With a wave of his hand, he drove away the crowd like swatting flies.

Then Zhang Yang, Xiao Wei, and the group followed him to the office.

Once in the office and after Zhu Wenchao shut the door, Ma Yuguo quickly moved in, delivering a slap, then another, directly on Zhu's already swollen face, drawing blood once more.

"You, Zhu, are messing with me during this competition? Damn you, apologize now!" Brother Ma berated Zhu Wenchao harshly.

"I just wanted to make friends on WeChat, but his little brother pushed me. So what, I'm a Tianjin resident, won't be bullied by outsiders! I'm calling the police, I need to file a complaint!"

Zhu Wenchao, half-stammering, mumbled as he reached to make a call.

Seeing this troublemaker acting shamelessly, Zhang Yang felt a cold disappointment, feeling an ominous premonition.
