The ceremony was complete.

Shen Yi didn’t say a word, even as they went to toast the guests at each table. Qin Jiao turned to look at him and found that he still looked like his usual self. Though his suit today made him appear quite mature and composed, his ears were bright pink.

’In two lifetimes, and they’d even kissed before, yet this was the first time she’d ever known Shen Yi to be shy? Truly a rare sight.’

Everything that followed went quite smoothly without any further incidents. The only issue was that Shen Zhengfeng and his entire family looked terribly unhappy.

With her arm linked through Beidou’s, Du Liya beamed at Shen Zhengfeng. "Zhengfeng, you’re free tomorrow, right? We’ll go and finalize the handover for the clothing factory then."

Shen Zhengfeng forced a smile and nodded.

Once the other friends and guests had dispersed, the two newlywed couples returned to the courtyard house together. Qin Bogang had to attend to something at his workplace and would be leaving first thing in the morning, so Su Yun and Qin Zhonghui bought plenty of North City’s local specialties for him to take back.

Qin Xiaolan wanted to visit a few universities in North City—it was a rare opportunity, after all—so Sun Li decided to stay an extra day to take her daughter to tour the campuses, letting Qin Bogang head back by himself.

When Sun Jianhua heard he could get a job in the clothing factory’s cafeteria, he was incredibly grateful to Qin Zhonghui and Su Yun. After all, the money he’d saved for so long had been nearly wiped out; luckily, he’d left a portion of it with Qin Na.

’Looks like opening the fruit shop will have to be postponed again.’

Qin Zhonghui said, "We’ve already spoken with Du Liya. We want you to be in charge of the daily food purchasing. It’s a very important task, and we wouldn’t feel comfortable entrusting it to an outsider."

She thought for a moment and said, "My aunt attended an Open University program before and studied accounting. Do you think she could work with the professional your uncle found?"

Qin Jiao mainly hoped her aunt could gain some experience and broaden her horizons.

Shen Yi said, "Of course, that’s no problem. My mom previously offered to give you all the factory’s profits for the next four years, but you refused, saying you only wanted a percentage. So, Jiao Jiao, how about we split the profits fifty-fifty, and you can manage my half for me? What do you think?"

Qin Jiao’s mouth twitched.

’Is there any difference?’

Shen Yi squeezed her hand. "Without your help, we probably would have lost the factory, so don’t be so formal with me. You’re my wife now, after all."

’She suspected Shen Yi had had too much to drink again. Why else would his eyes be so bright and his ears so red?’

The group was busy for the better part of the day. The most important matter was the takeover of the clothing factory. Now that they had settled the main details, all that was left was to show up at Shen Zhengfeng’s door tomorrow and claim the factory.
