Chapter 228: Second Stage of the Competition
The day passed by quietly and the next day, they all went to the venue for the second stage of the competition.
Long Shi Yu yawned heavily when he arrived. He still had to participate in the mecha competition, which was why he felt really tired today.
"You know that you can choose just one competition to participate, right?" Tian Lou looked at Long Shi Yu speechlessly.
"No." Long Shi Yu shook his head. "If I’m not participating in competition, I’ll be asked to perform real missions. I don’t want to get out of Green Planet just yet."
Tian Lou rolled his eyes. "Sooner or later, you will have to leave."
"I know."
"Then..."
"But that doesn’t mean I have to leave right away, so it’s fine to participate in the competitions first," Long Shi Yu said in righteous tone.
Tian Lou was speechless again.
Long Qian Xing glanced at his cousin and shook his head. "You will have to participate in mission after the Summer Break."
It was the rule for the fifth year students to participate in missions. They could start taking missions from one to two years before if they passed the qualifying exams, but most students would wait until they were on the fifth year before they officially started to take on missions.
Because they felt that they were not strong enough to face the opponents or many other reasons.
And those who picked earlier were usually very confident.
Long Qian Xing himself was the exception because his performance was already far better than many other graduates when he was still younger. But because of his father’s pressure, he was not allowed to officially graduate.
Thus, he was technically still university student.
"That’s different."
"Heh."
"Say, are we going to start now?" Qian Fei Liu interrupted before they started arguing again. It was almost time and he didn’t understand why they all could cooperate so well when in reality they were quarreling with each other.
Well, banter was a more appropriate word.
"Soon." Long Qian Xing glanced at the screen. "Our target is two teams after us. Just remember that two team before us will be chasing after us, so it might be a bit messy."
"The hunter and the hunted?" Qian Fei Liu nodded.
"That’s quite a good description." Long Shi Yu looked at Qian Fei Liu thoughtfully. "This competition is adapted from real missions because you will never know when you will be the hunted ones."
For example, they were told to ambush their enemies in a certain place. But as it turned out that someone else had found out about their action and become the oriole behind the scene.
This kind of thing had happened in the real life many years ago.
Long Shi Yu remembered the discussion about that incident, which was also the main reason why the second stage has always been the two way modes. It was to train them to be careful.
Not only watch their target but also their backs.
As for why two teams... it might be to add more fun in the game and challenges. After all, if two teams were to get into scuffle, the last one might still be able to make some troubles in other places.
It was hard to say what the end result would be in the end.
"Aren’t you usually be briefed of the missions?" Qian Fei Liu asked. He had never participated in real missions, so what he knew was only from hearing from others. Even then, they didn’t go too deep in their explanation and only the surface picture.
Qian Fei Liu definitely wanted to participate in missions in the future, so he wanted to collect enough information first.
"Yes, there will be briefing, but who could say for sure that there’s no one who’s watching our movements?" Long Qian Xing was very calm about this matter.
"Who’s our target?"
"Team 66 and 69." Long Shi Yu saw that the screen has been refreshed. However, he had to admit that he didn’t even know how the people from those two teams looked like before this.
"Here’s the files. Memorize it."
Nan Hua looked at the flies. Team 66 was a team consisted of 5 men with various different body structure. On the other hand, team 69 consisted of 3 men and two women. They looked more ordinary and it might be hard to find in the crowd.
"Can you remember them?" Long Shi Yu looked at Qian Fei Liu.
"Don’t worry." Qian Fei Liu’s memorization ability was strong. His mental strength was also higher than most of his friends, so he was still confident.
"Good for you." Tian Lou muttered in a low voice, trying hard to engrave the appearance of these people in his mind.
"We can still bring three weapons like before, but it’ll be a bit more difficult than before." Long Shi Yu explained to Qian Fei Liu. The others had already participated in Spring Group Competition, so they were more or less clear about the rules. "Our task is to blend in the crowd. If you see someone walking around while carrying weapon, it’s estimated that everyone will try to get away as fast as possible."
The others nodded.
If there was someone who carried a large sword on the street, no one would want to stay within five meters around him.
This was naturally because they felt that he was very dangerous and might harm them if they accidentally got close. If they got hurt just because of such nonsense reason, who would they blame?
They would want to cry for their own stupidity.
"We have to pick weapons that can be folded or pick a relatively small weapon," Long Shi Yu said. "Fortunately, there’s no metal check, so we can still bring our guns into the cities."
"I see." Qian Fei Liu nodded. He understood that this was just the city within the Virtual World and the management area has been informed in advance.
If it was the real world... that was naturally impossible.
