Second Uncle, Old Lv, He Chao and others arrived at Zhalin Industrial Park.

They walked to the very edge of the industrial park and saw this food processing factory.

This once bustling food factory now presented a scene of ruin and desolation.

They passed through debris and collapsed walls to reach a factory hall. The machines and equipment in the hall were scattered on the ground, some corroded by acid rain into scrap iron, others blowing about in the wind.

The glass in this hall was covered with volcanic ash and dust, preventing the outdoor sunlight from shining in.

In the dim light, Old Lv shone a flashlight over the remnants on the walls and the dust on the workbench.

The walls were dilapidated, with broken pipes and damaged equipment everywhere. In the corner, there were even a few decomposed bird corpses.

Walking through the factory corridor, they heard the cracking of walls accompanied by the howling wind and thin air, inducing an indescribable despair.

A massive machine in the middle of the factory hall had stopped operating. Rails were covered with dust and debris, and a few abandoned freight cars had wheels rusted to an unimaginable extent.

In a work area by the wall, damaged tools and machine parts were scattered around, some lying on the ground, others hanging on the wall. These fragmented parts and tools once formed the heart of this factory, but have now become part of the ruins.

Second Uncle led everyone in a careful search, collecting discarded broken machines and abandoned equipment, only to find that these discarded devices were utterly unusable.

The surroundings of the factory were equally grim, dotted with half-collapsed buildings and broken utility poles. Some buildings had turned to ruins, the walls collapsed beyond recognition, leaving only scattered bricks and blocks of cement.

After searching the factory, they found only a few intact tools and parts. Most other machines had been corroded by acid rain.

Second Uncle looked out from the pitch-black factory hall, noticed a large opening in the workshop roof, and couldn’t help but sigh: Everything’s been corroded, what shall we do?

Seeing Second Uncle so dejected, He Chao recalled something and said to him, "I know there are two other food factories in the industrial park. Let’s go check them out. I remember one makes mooncakes, and the other processes meat and fruits and vegetables. Although not as big as this one, they are old enterprises."

Upon hearing this, Second Uncle said, "Then let’s go have a look. But then again, old enterprises, they’re all old buildings and equipment. Probably not as good as this new factory building, right..."

Old Lv shook his head after hearing Second Uncle’s words and said, "Not necessarily. Old buildings didn’t have so-called jerry-built engineering and stood firm for so many years. The materials used must be better than this factory."

Second Uncle’s eyes lit up; Old Lv had a point. He recalled many construction accidents involving newer buildings from a decade or two ago, with very few collapses ever heard of involving the old ones.

Just as Second Uncle stepped out of the factory, he saw Xiao Hu and his crew.

This time, when Second Uncle and the others arrived, they first came across Xiao Hu and his crew.

After all, Xiao Hu lived in the industrial park.

Therefore, the Big Camphor Tree Base’s extra staff stationed in the industrial park, including Xiao Hu and his crew, also followed along.

So Xiao Hu took two people out of the vehicle to open the iron gate wider.

Old Lv also led the combat personnel out of their vehicles, carrying assault rifles and holding spears, they slowly approached the factory building.

Because you never know how many Zombies might be inside.
