Carrick was sitting on the ground with his hand holding his spear. He was staring at the barrier, waiting for it to disappear.

The elite teams had arrived at his call. They realized that the situation might have been worse than they imagined from Carrick’s expression.

They had only one instruction. "Chase the Libation Fiesta as soon as the barrier is gone."

It didn’t matter if they were dead or alive. They needed to take down the Libation Fiesta.

That was why Carrick focused on the barrier.

Four hours after the barrier was activated, the barrier fluctuated and started to disappear.

"!!!" Carrick widened his eyes. Without hesitation, he stood up and leaped into the tower.

There was no order from Carrick, but the others knew they should follow him. They used their fastest speed to catch up to Carrick, even though it was impossible.

Carrick was going down the tower as quickly as possible so that they didn’t lose the enemy.

Unfortunately for Carrick, Mara wasn’t someone easy to handle.

"Is everyone ready?" Clovis asked. There was no answer, but all their expressions were serious. They understood the severity of their situation.

"There are many enemies outside. I’m sure that Carrick will be leading his elite teams to catch us as well. That’s why we need to be fast. We only have a few minutes to break through the blockade.

"So, this is our chase. I want your undivided attention. We shall get away from the Spear Saint here."

All of them nodded.

"In that case, I should begin." Mara nodded. "This is part of the deal, so I should open a path for you."

"You’re not going to destroy the entire area, right? Our bus won’t be able to pass. Although we expect to abandon this bus, we have to keep it for as long as possible," Kanaria asked.

"I don’t need to destroy anything to open the path. If your captain has mastered his unique ability, he can probably do the same. Anyway, follow after me." Mara didn’t explain further.

She simply walked towards the exit. As expected, the soldiers had been blockading the exit. There were many snipers. They even pointed their cannons, which were meant to shoot at the beasts this way.

They screamed and clutched their heads. Their eyes rolled back and their mouth started to foam.

In just a few seconds, 80% of the soldiers fell to the ground, unconscious.

"What?" The commander widened his eyes in shock.

Clovis smiled wryly while his team was dumbfounded. They never thought Maya could defeat all these soldiers without lifting a finger.

They realized that if Clovis really had the ability to control his killing intent to that extent, he could achieve the same thing.

"Let’s go!" Clovis wasn’t that surprised, as he had seen this plenty of times when he first studied under Mara.

Everyone snapped and regained their composure. "That’s right. We have to get away right now."

They hurried away and drove the bus.

"Stop her!" The commander gritted his teeth. Even though he was scared, he had to do his job.

There were still some soldiers left. It looked like Mara couldn’t knock out the high-level soldiers.

Those soldiers rushed toward Mara, only to face the illusion of a ruined world.

Clovis and the others started fighting back while maintaining their speed. Mara was also doing the same thing, opening a path for the Libation Fiesta.

There was no one who could withstand Mara’s attack, so she broke through pretty easily.

Without the numbers, even high-level soldiers wouldn’t be able to slow down the Libation Fiesta.

In just a minute, they broke through and continued to the base’s exit.

They had to drive for another thirty seconds before they left the base and continued to the forest.

They only had a bit more time before Carrick reached the base, so they had to make it count. The moment he reached the base, he was startled because the Libation Fiesta wasn’t there anymore.

He looked around and tried to find the soldiers who were still standing.

The soldier pointed in a certain direction.

Without wasting any time, Carrick launched himself into the air, trying to catch up to Clovis and the others.

Surprisingly, he found the bus that the Libation Fiesta used.

He sharply landed on the ground and headed to the bus, only to find it abandoned.

"!!!" Carrick realized that they might have abandoned the vehicles to avoid getting tracked.

However, it looked like luck favored Carrick this time.

There was suddenly a clash southwest of the bus’s location. He raised his head first and looked down, noticing the footsteps. They had indeed gone this way.

Hence, Carrick chased after them.

"You..." Carrick launched himself at the silhouette before realizing it was Mara Leverstrike.

Mara turned around and struck his spear. Mara once again overpowered him and pushed him back.

Carrick realized Clovis was nowhere around this place. In other words, Mara and Clovis had gone separate ways.

He had been tricked by Clovis.

"Do you think you can get away from this, Mara Leverstrike? To think that you would be helping Clovis Hacfield!" Carrick gritted his teeth.

Mara didn’t have a change of expression. She simply said, "Why should I care about other people’s opinions? I have done everything as I’ve always done it in the past. I follow where the wind carries me."

"I won’t let you get away with this. I’m going to hunt you down. Many countries will hunt you down!"

Mara tilted her head in confusion. "Many countries have been chasing me down all this time, but can they capture me?"
