Chapter 1494: Part 1: Duel against Antonio

The following day,

I woke up earlier. After getting out of bed, I started doing my morning routine. The morning routine lasted for one hour.

Then I checked my dantian. The dantian was filled with the inheritance forces. I could go to the Dean’s office.

After gaining some clarity in my thoughts, I began to get ready. I had the healing resources provided by Dean Jerome last time.

It was unused earlier. Then I realised it could be used during the special mission.

After getting ready, I left the room and appeared outside. I had thought the Purple Mark Guard would come.

Instead, someone else was waiting for me at the gate. I opened the entrance gate and walked outside.

I saw a white-haired, middle-aged man. He was looking at me.

"Who are you?" I asked.

"So you are Zack Lockwood. You are really young," Antonio said with a sigh.

"I’m Antonio, the second disciple of the Silver Element Faction Leader. William, whom you defeated earlier, was my senior brother," Antonio said.

Hearing that, my heart stirred. How did this person enter the Thunderflame Faction Territory?

"How did you come here?" I asked him.

"Ha... Ha... Ha..."

"Don’t worry about it. I’m the second disciple. I can go anywhere," Antonio said with laughter.

"So you have come here to challenge me," I said.

Antonio’s smile disappeared.

Unknown to them, the Purple Mark Guard had long since arrived at the spot. He was hiding and watching the conversation from the shadows.

He wanted to see the strength of Zack Lockwood. He knew about Antonio as well. Antonio was known as a stronger silver warrior with an attack technique.

He hardly had any rivals among the Purple Mark Legacy Elders.

On the ground, Antonio wanted to fight. But he looked around the place. He didn’t want the fight to happen in the Thunderflame Faction Territory.

"Let’s go to the arena," Antonio said.

Seeing that the challenge was unavoidable, I decided to agree.

"Let’s go," I replied.

Then we both started going towards the exit of the territory. On the way, we came across the members. They immediately recognised both of our faces.

Gasp!

An exclamation occurred. They didn’t know when Antonio had appeared. But they had seen the online post last night.

They knew Antonio was going to challenge Zack Lockwood. The next second, the crowd quietly followed from behind.

We left the territory. At the same time, the information reached the ears of the Faction leaders and the main elders.

They shook their heads. They knew the challenges were going to occur continuously.

On the other hand, we were going toward the combat arena. It brought back memories. Last time, I fought when I was a Black Mark Warrior.

A few minutes later,

We reached the arena office. We talked to the elders there. Knowing that it was going to be a duel between them, the elder asked whether we were ready to allow spectators.

I objected to it. I didn’t want more spotlight on me.

Antonio frowned. He wanted everyone to watch the battle. If everyone saw that Zack Lockwood was defeated by him, then they would get back their faces. The Silver Faction would gain more fame.

"No, I want everyone to see the battle," Antonio said.

Hearing that, I shook my head and replied, "I don’t want that. If you are defeated, then a greater number of warriors will challenge me. I don’t have time for that."

Antonio’s mouth twitched. He understood that if he insisted further, then the duel might not happen.

"Alright, let’s have a private duel," Antonio said.

Hearing that, I smiled and the elder began to do the registration. When the registration was done, both of us entered the massive area.

Then we went to the combat platform. Seeing that familiar platform, my eyes gleamed with a twinkle.

We reached the platform. Then I stepped inside the platform. Antonio walked onto the platform. He looked around the place as well.

It was not like the place was new to him. He had been here before. Now they had the chance to fight here.

A few minutes later,

An elder came. He was the one who registered the duel for them.

"I will be your referee," he said.

There was no need for a barrier. It was a vast open ground. The Purple Mark Guard was in the arena as well.

So was the Faction Leader of the Silver Faction. His second disciple, Antonio, was going to fight. He wanted to see the duel.

He didn’t know about the presence of the Purple Mark Guard. The Purple Mark Guard didn’t want others to see him.

"Let’s start the duel," the elder said.

Boom!

Antonio took action. He brought his knife out. In a flash, the knife was covered in sharp metallic power.

Slash!

Antonio slashed at Zack Lockwood. A powerful metal arc released from the knife blade. The metal arc shot towards Zack Lockwood.

On the other hand, I circulated the purple lightning force in my body. This time, I didn’t use the shock force.

"Lightning Wheel!"

When the metal arc was about to reach me, I used the lightning wheel technique. A purple lightning wheel appeared around me.

Right then, the metal arc collided into it.

A deafening sound occurred. The shock force spread across the place. The impact force hit my body, but I withstood it.

A similar thing happened to Antonio. He withstood the impact force. But he was surprised by the fact that his attack was easily blocked.

It was not supposed to happen. He was expecting some injuries.

"Lightning Condensed Finger!"

At the same time, I used the finger technique right away. A purple beam formed at the tip of my index finger. Then I pointed towards Antonio.

A purple beam released from the index finger the next moment. It tore through the air before reaching Antonio.

He was taken aback. He didn’t expect the surprise attack. Yet, he was able to evade at the last moment. He had faced many sneak attacks before, so it had trained his body.

The beam landed on the platform and created an explosion. The impact force once again shook the platform.
