Age of Wizards: I Can Analyze All Things
Chapter 143 - 101: Excess Profit, the Simple Half Deer Maiden
Pei Ze raised an eyebrow, somewhat surprised.
He’d never imagined this was what Gu Lin wanted his help with.
He asked in surprise, "Isn’t your Gu Family best known for Gem Enchantment? There must be plenty of people who can create Magic Tattoos, so why ask an outsider like me for help?"
"...Don’t worry about that. I’ll pay you, of course."
"How about this? If there are any other Magic Tattoos you want, I can gather the gemstone materials for you free of charge. In return, you can inscribe my Magic Tattoos. I’ll provide my own materials, of course. What do you think?"
’That’s more like it.’
Pei Ze was tempted.
Inscribing Magic Tattoos was a simple matter for him, something he could do with ease.
If he could get a batch of valuable gemstones in return, it would undoubtedly be a great deal.
However, there was one question that needed to be addressed first.
"Are you sure you want me to do it?" Pei Ze asked pointedly.
The question seemed to come out of nowhere, but Gu Lin understood his meaning immediately, a faint blush rising to her cheeks.
Magic Tattoos were inscribed on the skin. For the sake of concealment, they were typically placed on hidden parts of the body.
If they were inscribed on the face, neck, or arms—areas normally uncovered by clothing—they could be easily discovered.
A sharp-eyed opponent could immediately identify the type of Magic Tattoo, revealing one’s trump cards and allowing them to prepare a counter in advance.
Naturally, no Wizard would do something so foolish.
Only if they ran out of space on their skin would they consider places like the neck and arms.
Therefore, the implications of asking Pei Ze to inscribe a Magic Tattoo were self-evident.
Gu Lin, however, was already well aware of this.
’The Enchanters in my family are all men anyway. It would be the same whether I asked them or Pei Ze, so I might as well choose someone I find easy on the eyes.’
At this thought, she nodded firmly and said with a serious expression, "I’m counting on you!"
Seeing her determination, Pei Ze stopped refusing. He nodded and said, "Which Magic Tattoos do you want? I’ll need some time to prepare."
Gu Lin had clearly already made up her mind. She replied without hesitation, "A Flash Magic Tattoo and a Shelter Magic Tattoo."
A glint appeared in Pei Ze’s eyes as he nodded in understanding.
The Shelter Magic Tattoo was a defensive type. When activated, it instantly created a protective barrier, similar to Mage Armor, but its Defense Power was far superior.
Pei Ze had already planned to analyze the Shelter Magic Tattoo after he was done with the Thunder Burst Magic Tattoo. Now he could tackle both at once and even save on materials.
"How long will you need to prepare?" Gu Lin asked.
Pei Ze calculated mentally. "A little over ten days," he said. "I’ll let you know when I’m ready."
Gu Lin nodded. "What materials do you need?" she asked.
"Prepare an extra set of materials for a Thunder Burst Magic Tattoo and a Shelter Magic Tattoo for me."
’Two sets of materials for inscribing two Magic Tattoos. That’s very reasonable.’
Gu Lin agreed without hesitation.
After watching Gu Lin leave, Pei Ze continued on his way to the academy.
The issue with the Magic Tattoo materials was resolved, but he still needed to make money.
For one thing, buying the metallic combinations for Silver Star to absorb required a great deal of money.
If he had enough Magic Stone Coins, he could have Silver Star absorb a full eleven standard units of the metallic combinations, right up to the critical point for its next evolution.
That would make him much more confident for the competition. 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖
Medicine Garden No. 8.
As he arrived at the entrance to the garden, Pei Ze was wondering if Yin Xue was around. He looked up and saw her standing nearby, a gentle smile on her face.
The young woman had the same gentle and graceful air about her as always.
Judging by her appearance alone, you would never guess she was an Official Wizard.
It was only when you met her gaze that you would find yourself momentarily lost in her deep, star-like eyes.
"Congratulations on securing a spot in the competition, Junior," Yin Xue said with a radiant smile.
"Thank you." Pei Ze smiled and nodded. "Did you need me for something, Senior?"
Yin Xue smiled faintly. "The professor knew you were coming," she said softly. "He asked me to wait here for you."
Pei Ze’s expression grew serious. "Does the professor have any instructions for me?" he asked.
"No instructions, just a message for you," Yin Xue said with a smile. "The professor said that because of the competition’s contract restrictions, he can’t help you too much directly. However, starting today, you can purchase anything from the apothecary at cost, with no limits."
Pei Ze’s eyes immediately lit up.
’This is far more useful than any other kind of help!’
If he could buy Moonlight Orchids at a lower price, the money he earned from his trade with Tining would be even greater.
He wasn’t short on Magic or Magic Items at the moment; the only thing he lacked was money.
With enough money, he could sort out both the Magic Tattoos and the metallic combinations without any further worry.
The professor’s help could not have come at a better time.
"Senior, where is the professor now?"
"He isn’t at the academy right now," Yin Xue said with a smile. "The professor said you should just focus on preparing for the competition."
Hearing this, Pei Ze gave up on the idea of finding Mo Weng to thank him in person.
Yin Xue seemed to be quite busy, for she left in a hurry right after relaying Mo Weng’s message.
Pei Ze went straight to the apothecary and purchased five hundred Moonlight Orchids at once, spending almost all the Magic Stone Coins he had on him.
After that, he rushed over to the General Affairs Department in the Experimental District and made his way to the underground hall.
Unlike the deserted state of his previous two visits, the underground hall was bustling with people today.
Almost all of them were there for the Dark Wells.
Getting closer, he saw that all five Dark Wells were occupied, with a line of more than a dozen people waiting behind them.
’Why is it so crowded all of a sudden?’
