After signing with AC Milan, I will be the king of football!
Chapter 2045 - 532: HNM Group Reservation
"It’s fine, we just didn’t tell you in advance."
Albert said with a smile.
"Yeah, c’mon, open the presents."
Huang Kaiwen egged him on.
Messi immediately started unwrapping.
He had just opened the present from Huang Kaiwen when he let out a cry of surprise.
Under the torn square wrapping paper was a DVD, with a goofy-grinning Tom Hanks on the cover—it was a DVD of "Forrest Gump."
The key thing was, there was a line written on it—Run, Lionel, Run and at the end a wild, swirling autograph: Ham Hanks!
Messi’s eyes instantly went red. "Kevin..."
Huang Kaiwen waved his hand with a smile and said, "I heard you like this movie, so I had someone get you a signed DVD."
"Thank you, this means a lot to me."
Messi said, eyes flushed.
"I just don’t like those United States ’main theme’ movies."
Inzaghi curled his lip.
"You’ve gotta set aside the values they’re trying to sell and see the kindness and beauty in the movie itself. Gump buying the shrimp boat is a testament to male friendship, it represents a man’s promise."
Ramos said.
Huang Kaiwen immediately gave him a thumbs-up.
Well said, bro, straight to the point. Deserves to be a grad student.
"Alright, don’t start bawling in front of your teammates."
Antonella handed Messi a tissue.
Messi smiled sheepishly.
Mainly, ever since he came to Milan, he’d been taken care of so much that this was all just pent-up emotion finally spilling over.
Compared to everything at Barcelona, he realized transferring to Milan was pretty much the best thing ever.
Leaving Barça that much transfer fee and all those goals, he’d more or less repaid what the club had done for him.
Inzaghi gave him a copy of "History of the Holy Roman Empire."
Huang Kaiwen almost couldn’t hold it in.
This bastard Inzaghi had actually found two scholars to specially compile a history of Holy Roman, and even got the damn thing published.
And now he was going around giving it to people.
For all he knew, the Austrians might come looking for trouble one of these days.
Kaka gave him a teapot with Messi’s jersey printed on it.
The Young Miss gave him "Urban Young Master Filippo."
Ramos gave a whole set of textbooks, and even said earnestly, "As a player you have to study more and improve your personal cultivation, that way you won’t embarrass the team."
Messi nodded woodenly.
He had absolutely no idea how Ramos and "cultivation" could be mentioned in the same breath.
What Albert gave was a lot more normal—a red-and-black scarf.
When it was time to leave that night, Huang Kaiwen found a backpack so Messi could pack the gifts, otherwise the two of them wouldn’t be able to carry everything back.
Watching Messi with a big backpack on his shoulders, holding Antonella’s hand, Huang Kaiwen couldn’t help snickering.
Only after the two had gone off into the distance did he say irritably, "That ’History of the Holy Roman Empire’ you gave him—is it real?"
"Of course!"
Inzaghi stuck his neck out. "It’s been certified by famous historians. My family is a side branch, but our bloodline is still purer than those people in Austria."
"Then I’m a descendant of Caesar."
Kaka said sourly.
"You’ve got black hair, so you might really be a Roman."
Inzaghi said with a cheeky grin.
Kaka rolled his eyes at Inzaghi in exasperation.
After seeing everyone out, the Young Miss and Lily sat on either side of Huang Kaiwen.
The Young Miss said, "It’s always this lively at home."
"So do you like it?"
Huang Kaiwen asked, one arm around each of them.
"How could I not?"
The Young Miss narrowed her eyes and rested her head on Huang Kaiwen. "Every single one of them genuinely likes you. Seeing you have friends makes me happy."
Huang Kaiwen tightened his arm around her shoulders a little.
"Hey, you damn lovey-dovey couple!"
Lily complained.
The Young Miss reached over and stroked her somewhere, and Lily instantly went soft.
The three of them spent a few quiet days at home.
December 31st, 11:59 p.m.
The Milan official website released a piece of news: "After friendly negotiations with Barcelona this summer, player Lionel Messi transferred to Milan for a fee of 200 million Euro and was then loaned back to Barcelona for half a season. Now that period has ended, we have decided to recall the player. Next, let us welcome our number nineteen, one of the best footballers in the world—Lionel Messi!"
