Chapter 419: Bonus - : Valentine’s Day of Light and Flame_6
Fast friends, kindred spirits, each believed they’d found a confidant.
Ming extended his hand, "Hello, I’m Ming Dovran, here to watch the match with my girlfriend."
The man shook his hand, "Hello, William Dolgette, just like you, here to watch the match with my girlfriend."
Dolgette? Ming stored the name in his heart and continued to chat with William.
"Is your girlfriend also from the Demon Race?"
"Yes, a Succubus, plus something else."
"Rufus is a Flame Demon."
"A Flame Demon, huh? Brother Ming, you must have a tough time."
"Mhm, it’s painful yet joyful."
"Wooo, same here."
The friendship between the two men solidified.
"I really don’t get Demon Race girls. On a rare Valentine’s Day, they insist on going to some arena."
"William, don’t you know about the customs of the Demon Race? The Demon Race decides all major matters through combat. The arena is a sacred place for the Demon Race."
I see, thanks for letting me know, Brother Ming."
The two men in similar situations exchanged information while the battle in the arena had ended.
The Defender Knight narrowly lost to the Skeleton Armored Bulldozer Stream, and the match was over.
A content Rufus Flameheart took Ming by the hand and led him to a place, her eyes sparkling.
"Ming, do you know where I’m taking you?"
Ming summoned the Holy Light Warhammer onto his shoulder with a smile. "Of course, I do. The Demon Race, decides everything with combat, including love, spouses."
"Rufus Flameheart, I am willing to fight for you."
The resolute expression of the Paladin made the Flame Demon girl blush, "Ming, I will stand by you in battle, please do your best." The girl tilted her head, whispering softly, "If we win, I... I will reward you."
With a firm belief in victory, the Paladin and the Flame Demon stepped onto the arena.
Ming saw who their opponents were.
"No way..."
"I should’ve guessed it," shrugged William, following behind the armed Gulelia the War Messenger, looking at Ming in the distance. "What a coincidence, Brother Ming. Who would’ve thought, we’d be the ones to spar."
Ming smiled just like William, "Hahaha, Brother William, we are friends, let’s just touch base and not spoil our friendship."
"Hahaha, that’s right, Brother Ming, let’s just touch base. Winning or losing, who cares."
The two men smiled and brotherly bonded, while the two girls also smiled with a bloodthirsty eagerness to tear each other apart.
"The duel begins."
"Roar!" "Roar!"
The Flame Demon’s body burst with intense flames as she charged like a wild beast.
The War Messenger soared into the air, her scaled iron wings unfurling to slice through the air," her talons diving down to shred through currents. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
"Long Spear of Light!!!"
The first to strike the enemy was Ming’s throw of the Holy Flame Spear, the burning Holy Light shattering the rock barrier with a fierce explosion.
"Blessing of Justice! Light-forged Blade! Blessing of the King! Iron Nerves! Aura of Judgment!"
Fully buffed, Ming immediately became the strongest presence on the battlefield. Without interfering in the two Demon Race girls’ fight, he raised the Shield of the Holy Light and charged fiercely towards the spot where he had thrown the spear.
"Tar Adhesion!"
"Wall of Burning!"
"Spikes Burst!"
"Wind of Corruption!"
The mix of elemental attacks slowed Ming’s pace, but the Paladin, like an iron bull, crashed into the heart of the elements and saw the unharmed William who had been knocked back by his charge.
"Brother Ming! That’s not cool! We agreed to stop short of harm, and you sneak attack me! That’s too much!"
"Tch! You think I didn’t notice the spikes under my feet? Me sneak attacking? Heh, we’re even. Pretending to kill each other while playing nice."
"Brother Ming, you... you have a reward too, right?"
"Absolutely! No one can stop my victory! My reward! William! If you’re my good brother, let me stab you a couple of times!"
Dodging another sweep of the Holy Light Warhammer, William glided away on a light breeze."
"I’m not refusing to help you, brother, but my reward is also important. Gulelia has been very angry lately, accusing me of preferring Fannila over her, causing friction between us; I need to appease her."
"Who’s Fannila?" Ming raised his shield to block a fireball, stomping his foot to shatter a stone spear.
"My other girlfriend, she’s an Elf."
"What???" Ming roared in outrage! His Holy Light doubled in intensity," I shun you, you shameless man! I’ll beat you into paralysis to soothe my sense of injustice!"
A deadlock ensued.
Having enhanced himself, Ming largely ignored William’s barrage of spells thanks to the overpowering force of the Holy Light. However, for some reason, his attacks couldn’t touch William, always narrowly missing as William dodged by a hair’s breadth. They were at an impasse, with neither able to gain the upper hand.
On the girls’ side, the balance had tipped.
Rufus Flameheart was no match for Gulelia the War Messenger. The War Messenger’s scales, after withstanding the high temperature of the Flame Demon’s flames, had gradually hardened into high-temperature resistant material. Moreover, Gulelia’s combat experience far exceeded that of Rufus.
Gulelia had been trained in the most rigorous combat since she was young, and she was an expert brawler in the City of Wandering. Rufus was a little princess from the Abyssal Demon Race, where each member was a battle fanatic. However, the Flame Demon girl hadn’t seen much combat; after all, the temperature of hell’s flames solved many problems.
But when faced with an enemy who could overcome her flames, the Flame Demon’s combat effectiveness greatly diminished.
