Chapter 401: Chapter 371 The Claw of Vilimlo

"What is the Hellfire Invitation Race?" Lyle pondered, cradling his forehead.

I’m the president of the Necromancer Figure Club, aren’t I? How come my club is having an exhibition match with the Demon Race without me knowing!

"Hold on, the name Hellfire... I seem to recall Shiny and the others mentioning it..." The Hellfire Speed Race, isn’t that the Spine Wheel race that only recently became popular among the Demon Race...

That being the case, it’s understandable for the Necromancer Figure Club to hold an exhibition match with the Black Abyssal Demons, but other than the race vehicles for the Spine Wheel, what extra support could the Necromancer Figure Club possibly provide?

Confusion was like a cork blocking Lyle’s brain, as questions bore down on his relaxed mind. Lyle was oblivious, but as the club president, he certainly needed to find the relevant people to understand the situation properly.

"Let’s go, Nia!"

"Awoo." Stuffing all the pastries from the table into her mouth, Nia slid forward like a snake for a few steps before leaping behind Lyle, "Are we going to the Culinary Club? It’s been quite popular there lately, let’s go! Let’s go!"

"Alright, alright, but first we’re going to the Necromancer Figure Club, then we can look around afterwards."

"Hehe, okay." Finally, the tentacles that were longer than Lyle’s arms stopped causing mischief. Nia leaned on Lyle’s shoulder, drooling and letting out a silly chuckle, seemingly in the midst of a pleasant dream.

Perhaps it was the influence of the flesh disguise, or perhaps the wandering dominion contest.

The once desolate corridors of Andrey now had a touch more humanity, not just members of the literature club running about distributing flyers, but Andrey members dressed like normal humans were also moving along the corridors. Upon seeing Lyle, they would smile and nod before turning their attention back to the pamphlets in their hands.

"Andrey is quite interested in the dominion contest." After all, it’s a large-scale event involving multiple races and, of course, hunger for flesh. The Liches no longer coldly observed everything, instead, as if anew, they regarded every aspect of the outside world with curiosity.

Of course, this didn’t stop them from causing trouble, as apparent from the intensity of the enforcer patrols. With their vibrant curiosity and energy, troublesome Liches became even more numerous.

Lyle arrived at the Necromancer Figure Club’s faculty room, which was empty in the foyer and office. Were there new classes in Spirit Summoning Studies announced all of a sudden, or had the club members been drawn away by the promotional activities outside? With this question in mind, Lyle walked into the large laboratory of the Necromancer Figure Club.

"Damn, what’s this?!"

What came into view was a gigantic bone wheel that stood ten meters tall, with fierce bone spikes interlinked with deformed spinal bones. Two rows of dark, split-tipped spikes fiercely pierced the skeletal support meant to keep it in place, which was, in fact, teaching material borrowed from Mr. Dragon that could be used to make bone armaments.

The specially designed Spinal Giant Wheel, from its appearance alone, exuded a daunting presence. Its body bore an aura of intimidation, seemingly from some runes of soul magic used as deterrents. The connecting flesh was black, an abnormal and impure black. This unease was brought about by those black, tentacle-like flesh strips hiding in the crevices of the bones, like venomous snakes with their fangs bared.

But what really surprised Lyle were the two sides of the gigantic bone wheel.

Spine Wheel modification, although illegal under Andrey’s regulation laws, was still a project Lyle had been involved in countless times as the creator of the Spine Wheel. Especially the flanks, otherwise known as the wheel’s weak points—weapon modifications like bone spikes, ejecting tentacles, Ice Blades, or Bomb Launchers—Lyle had crafted them all.

But this was beyond Lyle’s abilities.

This wasn’t a modification that could be done by just one person; it definitely involved the club’s auxiliary members, or perhaps it was an experimental project undertaken with the efforts of the entire Necromancer Figure Club.

Those were a pair of enormous Flesh and Bone Monstrous Hands, which cradled the flanks of the Spinal Giant Wheel as if they were clasped together. Shiny, along with the members skilled in operation and adaptation, was near the bone wheel adjusting it, and they were so focused that no one noticed Lyle’s arrival.

Their creativity was evident in the use of an exoskeleton with internalized muscle structure, where the crevices of the bones housed complex muscular networks. The gigantic finger bones, which appeared sleek, flawless, and unified, were actually composed of numerous small bone fragments. This design aimed to maintain local hardness while maximizing the ability to transform.

"The Claw of Vilimlo."

Vilimlo, a name from the Liches’ Spirit Summoning Studies legend, referred to the forbidden creation known as the "bizarre shape-shifter." It was said to possess the transformative capabilities every Spirit Summoner dreamed of, a creation that fulfilled every lavish ambition.

This name was also the one decided upon by Lyle and the others as the name for their high-tech Necromancer creation.

"You, behind my back, created the Death Giant’s claw," Lyle said with shock and excitement, mixed with a hint of accusation, awakening Shiny and the others immersed in their adjustments.

"Boss, we didn’t hide it from you," manipulating the claw, he pointed to its parts, "don’t you find it familiar? The structure here, the flesh weaving here, the spirit attachment here, all are your own techniques."

"The constructive techniques of Spirit Summoning Studies that you selflessly showed us, we’ve just put them to flexible use."

Indeed, although the personal touches of a Spirit Summoner were especially evident on the giant claw, resembling a hastily stitched together monster, the blood and bone weaving techniques present in every section originated from the same source, perfectly integrating the scattered pieces into a whole.

From Lyle Bule, the most distinguished of the new generation of Spirit Summoners from Andrey Academy.

Lyle felt a tinge of emotion, "But this doesn’t change the fact that you’ve been researching behind my back. You’ve put in all this effort, yet in our shared ’dream,’ my struggle is absent."

Could it be that, as club president, I’m really just an insignificant figurehead?

Shiny stroked his scales, "No mark? Isn’t there quite a lot here?"

"We were working behind the scenes at the beginning, didn’t inform you, Boss, mainly because we wanted to give you a surprise."

"Also, there was worry. If we didn’t add our own marks, relying on the Dean’s knowledge, soon you wouldn’t need us anymore," Variance pointed at something on the hand bone, "These bones, the supposition of distorted bone refinement rituals you devised before; the flesh, from your special material. The materials and connections are all your achievements, would you even deprive us of our right to assemble them by hand?"

Ah, so the claws of Vilimlo were created using my knowledge of Spirit Summoning Studies?

Lyle leaned in to closely examine the pair of claws that were like precious gems.

"No, that’s not right! The bones are from my creation’s ritual, but what is this flesh?"

"How can flesh have the properties of a soul at the same time? A soul-flesh hybrid? Such a transgression against Spirit Summoning Studies was not made by me. Whose brilliant idea was it, out of all of you?"

"Such a power, the creator will surely become a master of the flesh-and-blood school of Spirit Summoning Studies, it’s practically the ability of a flesh-and-blood god."

The Necromancer Figure Club members exchanged glances.

Shiny raised his hand.

"Boss, we took this raw material from your office, we thought it was the soul-infused flesh you created."

"Taken from my office?" Lyle furrowed his brow, I don’t remember?

Staring closely at the squirming black flesh in the crevices, Lyle pondered in his mind.

This thing? Why does it look familiar?

Nia snorted, she emerged from behind Lyle, angrily waving her fist.

"That’s terrible! It was you who stole Nia’s cheese! And you experimented with Nia’s food! You’re big baddies!"

"???"

The squirming special flesh with soul properties, the divine meat of Spirit Summoning Studies, was Nia’s cheese?
