Abyssal Sovereign: The Demon's Dominion
Chapter 513 - 512: Human King
Immortal Realm...
A vast expanse of space filled with immortal qi that could transform a pig into a cultivator capable of soaring through the skies and plucking the stars. Yet in a place like this, beings all radiating immortal pressure lined up like soldiers, their gazes fixed below them.
At the forefront were twelve immortals Kings , each with a dharma as huge as Pangu from the ancient cultivation era.
"It is time..." one of them spoke as the cracks in the Immortal Realm increased. It lay on the edge and would shatter at any time.
---
Mortal Realm...
"Well, you have joined the big players, so what next?" Void asked as Din took deep breaths.
"This world will change. There’s this uncomfortable feeling in me. I fear the mortals will suffer," Din answered.
"None of those engaging in the future care about the mortals. Then I will stand on my feet and protect the mortals from all this," Din spoke as a golden dragon of luck coiled around his head, becoming a crown.
"The Human King..." Void muttered, chuckling.
"Hmm, Human King?" Immediately after Din finished speaking, he sensed his body felt lighter and more connected to the world. He didn’t know why, and he could also feel as though his path for the future had become brighter. Hearing Void’s words made him curious.
"In every world with mortals, at some point they raise a champion, a leader, a protector of the mortals who will be called upon to protect them.
You have been chosen, Din. This was your true fate before all of this began. You were meant to lead the humans. I thought with the gods being involved, that path of fate had been shattered, but who knew you would still fulfill your fate?" Void spoke as he pondered, his eyes narrowing.
Hearing this shocked Din, but at the same time he felt a tug in his heart. What Void said seemed like the truth.
"But I became a demon, right?" Din spoke, confused.
"You have the demon bloodline, yes, but you are still you, still Din, even if you have a demon body now," Void corrected as Din’s eyes widened.
Then he looked at his body. Although he still had his human appearance, it seemed like his skin was pulsating at every moment like a heartbeat, and underneath it was a raging energy sweeping around his body.
A crimson mark stretched like a tattoo across his chest.
He was not a human anymore, but yet he could still think and reason normally and, like Void said, he was still himself.
"I see..." Din spoke.
"But I know nothing is free. What exactly do you want?" Din asked as Void chuckled.
"Oh...
Well, I want you to kill a being. Also at Rank 1 and incredibly strong. Once you kill him, i will leave you, and you are free to do whatever shit you want," Void spoke as Din frowned.
"How strong?" After a while, Din asked.
"You will be stronger than him by the time you fight him," Void spoke.
Din pondered, weighing his options. In the end, he finally sighed.
"Deal."
"Good then... so how about joining the war before it’s too late?" Void spoke.
"Yeah... right," Din spoke as he instantly appeared in the sky, and space bent as it collapsed.
A massive shockwave like a tsunami hit the surroundings as one city after another began to sink.
"You have to relax, kid... you can’t fully control your power yet," Void said as his eyes turned crimson. Then he waved his hand as the sinking cities stopped and returned to the surface.
Void retreated as Din’s crimson eyes returned to their normal pupils.
Away from them, the screaming humans and the martial warriors preparing for the worst were shaken.
What just happened?
Were they dreaming?
What the hell happened?
Both the martial warriors and the humans were left stunned.
In the sky, Din took control back as he stretched his body.
"Yeah, you are right..." Din said, but his mind was not calm. The way Void could just take control of his body at any time was something Din couldn’t get used to.
At least the good thing about all this was that Void didn’t use his body for anything strange.
"Take it slow. Start from small and ride it all the way to the peak," Void instructed as Din calmed his nerves and body. Like Void said, he took it slow as he began flying toward where the dense Rank 1 auras were.
---
Far from where Din was, the ground had been turned upside down, the sea dried up, and the sun was blanketed by dark clouds as a terrifying beast moved between them while lightning struck all around.
"Where is he?"
The beast roared, its eyes full of murderous intent as it searched for Nuk.
Meanwhile, the creature it wanted to kill was filled with joy as it enjoyed the battle it was involved in.
Crack...
Twisting the head of the last leader of the Super City, Nuk tore it off as blood sprayed onto his face. He licked it before drinking the hot blood with a wide grin.
Across from him, all the Peak Rank 0 demons looked toward the ground as the low-, middle-, and high-level demons devoured the souls of billions of lives.
And as Nuk had observed, the souls devoured seem to merged into a stream of energy transported elsewhere, only a tiny portion stayed with them.
Nuk didn’t need to guess to know it was going to Lord Vakim.
But something caught Nuk’s attention. He felt a warm energy fill his body. Not much, but it wasn’t insignificant either.
He couldn’t help but look at the other peak rank 0 demons to confirm, and just like him, they let out moans of comfort.
Nuk seemed to have come to a conclusion.
It seemed Peak Rank 0 beings got a bigger share of the souls devoured by the lower-level demons.
This surprised Nuk, but at the same time it made sense.
After all, Peak Rank 0 demons were not weak and could do a lot for a Rank 1 demon. They wouldn’t be treated too badly.
Now Nuk was even glad he had broken through, or else he might not have access to this much energy from the devoured souls.
"Let’s move to the next city," Selene said as the others nodded.
They had been fighting for close to two days. The Super City had been destroyed and thoroughly cleaned out by them all.
Seeing the Peak Rank 0 demons moving, the demon army followed.
Corpses, blood, and ruins lay in their wake.
