Abyssal Sovereign: The Demon's Dominion
Chapter 427 - 426: Contract of Causal Debt
"A bluff? Really?"
Void chuckled as he smiled at Shen Ye.
"You must have removed or discarded the beacon I placed on you, right?" Void asked with a grin.
Shen Ye's expression changed instantly.
Void knew?
"Well, that beacon was just a decoy. I placed something far more terrifying in you. It was more of an experiment, but…"
"…we'll see if it was a success or not, right, Shen Ye?"
Shen Ye backed away until his back hit the barrier of the bubble.
This… what had Void placed inside him?
He looked at his arms, his body trembling, his eyes blinking rapidly.
He didn't even know why, but sweat poured down his face. He gulped, his vision blurring.
What… was this?
Why? Why would Void do this to him? Was killing his sister not enough? Torturing her, destroying his world, taking his master as a slave, and defeating his master
so easily when he tried to avenge him
How long had he and Void known each other? Tens of years? Hundreds? Thousands?
All his accomplishments, his sleepless nights, his joy at becoming a god..
All of it now felt meaningless. Worthless before Void.
The same fear… the same helplessness he had once felt… returned.
His heartbeat thundered in his chest as the fear of the unknown consumed him.
He didn't know what Void had done but from everything he had seen, it had to be devastating.
Devastating enough to kill a Rank 4 being.
"Hehe… let me put it this way, are you stronger, or is the Abyss stronger?" Void bared his fangs as he snapped his fingers.
Pah
Before Shen Ye could even process his words, his body collapsed.
Then...his eyes began to disintegrate.
Slowly… from skin to muscle to blood to bone.., he vanished.
No..he wasn't vanishing.
He was being consumed.
An ancient, chaotic pressure descended.
(Ding, host killed a Rank 4 being. A feat few could achieve. The Abyss is pleased with the meal and has granted a corresponding reward.)
(Ding, host has broken through to Rank 4, low level.)
Void took a deep breath as immense energy flooded his body. He couldn't help but let out a satisfied groan.
And just like that
One of his greatest enemies was gone.
Void hadn't just placed a beacon on Shen Ye. He understood the nature of the Abyss… so he did something far more interesting.
What if he involved the Abyss itself?
What if he tied himself and Shen Ye together within it like a contract of some sorts?
Shen Ye was a chosen one—a son of destiny. His future achievements would have been extraordinary. Killing him back then would have been short-sighted.
But what if… he could turn that chosen one into something else?
Not livestock, no that was too crude.
Void wasn't raising prey.
He was cultivating inevitability.
Shen Ye was never meant to die back then not while his fate was incomplete, not while his "destiny" had yet to fully bloom.
Void gazed at the empty space where Shen Ye once stood.
A chosen one…
A being favored by fate itself.
The more such a being struggled, survived, evolved, and defied the impossible…
The more causality bent around them.
And what bends… eventually snaps.
Void had simply planted a seed, a mark that intertwined Shen Ye, the Abyss, and himself.
Every victory Shen Ye achieved, every miracle he grasped, every impossible survival..none of it was free.
It accumulated, layer by layer… until it reached its limit.
Until it became ripe for harvest.
And when that moment came, the Abyss didn't take
It collected.
Void smiled faintly.
"Entertainment?" he muttered.
"No…"
"That was an investment."
Void laughed wildly.
"And it paid off."
He stared at the empty space, laughing as his slaves felt their skin crawl.
This… this was horrifying.
Void wasn't just a monster, he was a thinking one. Intelligent. Calculated.
This wasn't random hatred.
He had planned Shen Ye's death from the beginning.
They didn't know how but somehow, he had used the Abyss itself to destroy him.
And he had been rewarded for it.
Why? How?
They couldn't understand.
At the side, Alayot's eyes moved constantly as his mind raced with
questions.
From what Shen Ye had said, Rank 4 beings couldn't die.
Yet they had just watched one perish.
How?
Void hadn't killed him directly so how had he made the Abyss do it? Was it some kind of contract?
He wasn't there back then but...Linkir was.
"Commander, did Shen Ye and Void sign any kind of contract?" Alayot asked.
Linkir smiled faintly not out of happiness, but confusion and shock.
"No… I have no idea how he did it," she replied, turning her gaze away.
Alayot's thoughts only deepened.
No one knew Void's method..
Except Void himself.
Finally, Void stopped laughing and looked at his slaves, his face returning to its usual calm.
"Imprison him," he said.
Sword Demon was instantly bound by origin energy, chains locking his body and sealing his power.
As this happened, Void turned his attention back to the system.
His "Son of the Abyss" title had been updated, and he wanted to see the changes
Along with his new stats.
(Ding!)
Host: Void
Rank: Rank 4 (Quasi Middle Level)
Strength: ∞
Speed: ∞
Stamina: ∞
Title: Son of the Abyss (Updated)
The host has been granted the ability to create a miniature version of the Abyss in any omniverse. Unlike sub-realms such as hell, this one is directly connected to the Abyss itself, and primordial demons, as well as other demonic entities, will acknowledge it.
Origin:
Origin of Death, Origin of Destruction, Origin of Creation, Origin of Life, Origin of Fate, Origin of Infinity, Origin of Killing, Origin of Spacetime, Origin of Darkness, Origin of Soul, Orign of Chaos
Laws:
All at 100% mastery.
Weapon:
Unnamed — Void's greatsword, embedded with nine holes, each corresponding to a rank.
Souls:
…
"Oh…" Void murmured, clearly impressed by his updated title.
At first, the Son of the Abyss title had only allowed him to step into the next quasi realm.
But now…
It granted him the authority to create an entirely new branch of the Abyss—one directly tied to its source.
This…
Was massive.
Very massive.
