Abyssal Sovereign: The Demon's Dominion
Chapter 399 - 398: The feast had begun; the dark age is here
"So… a feast…"
In the third layer of space, a being stood up from a throne made of bones. Each bone radiating the aura at the peak of rank 3.
He looked at his colleagues. Each of them had once risked their lives when humanity entered the interstellar era… and now, the very race they swore to protect—they had turned into beasts to devour it?
"Tch… what took you so long to realize?" the man said. He wore dark robes, and a lingering dark aura surrounded him.
"I mean, how many resources can your so-called power or organization bring forth? Can they sustain what is needed for Omniversal beings to return to their peak?
The resources we need can create several multi universal beings.
Pathetic."
The man spoke as the rest of the old men sighed.
This being, among all of them was one of the most feared, and everyone stayed away from him.
His nickname was the God of Death.
He had a strange obsession with collecting the bones of all his fallen opponents. No one knew what he used them for, but whenever there was war, he was always present—and when everyone else had left, he remained on the battlefield… collecting bones.
"Masa, that is the decision of everyone. We just came here to inform you," the leader of the group of elders said.
"Oh, and Marken warned you not to eliminate all. Go for the mortals first. Not a suggestion, but… a warning," the leader finished as space rippled and they disappeared.
"Tch… who can control what I do? Even Marken can't. What a stupid order," Masa sneered.
Masa stretched out his arms as he tore apart space.
His eyes were filled with longing as he entered the first layer of space.
His body began to grow—
5 meters… 10… 300… 10,000 kilometers… 1 light year… 20 million light years…
Finally, it stopped at five thousand mythological unit as Masa dwarfed entire universes.
His high-level Rank 3 aura was released everywhere as space distorted.
In his eyes, laws separated as he could see the souls of all living creatures.
He could see quadrillions upon quadrillions of them across universes—they filled everything.
Masa stretched out his arm and grabbed a universe. His mouth opened as he threw the marble-like universe into it.
Crunch… crunch… crunch…
Masa chewed as the universe broke within his jaws, crushed as laws, elements, and everything within it fused into pure energy.
Gulp…
Masa swallowed and grinned.
"Hm… coming," Masa's eyes glittered as he felt space crumbling—shattering layer after layer as a similar Rank 3 aura descended upon him. Laws fractured, bending and collapsing.
Finally, a middle-aged man appeared before Masa, his expression filled with restrained rage.
"How dare you?"
Bang—
Time rippled as the long river of time flowed backward.
Cracks spread across the multi universe as the newcomer stretched out his hand.
His hand enlarged infinitely, like a divine law itself. All other laws bowed or crumbled into dust.
Space shattered as holes formed from the first to the fourth layer of space.
"Seems you don't know how to greet your elders… let me enlighten you," Masa said with excitement as he stretched out his palm.
A similar—but far more stable—divine law hand appeared and collided with the incoming one.
Like two absolute wills, they clashed—
Destroying each other as laws disintegrated, elements turned to nothingness, and across the battlefield, the marbles representing universes cracked.
Like black and white, they repelled and devoured one another.
The clash between the new generation and the old ended with Masa as the victor.
The man's divine law hand was swallowed as blood seeped from his lips.
His expression turned serious as he finally asked—
"Who are you?" the man asked, clutching his hand, now reduced to mangled flesh.
"Didn't I mention it earlier? I am your elder… and you must bow when you see me," Masa said arrogantly as he stepped forward.
Each step crushed universes, transforming them into energy that he devoured.
His aura surged—from high Rank 3 to peak Rank 3—as the man felt fear.
"You…"
"Are you… a forefather?" the man asked, trembling.
Masa's grin widened.
If the man couldn't guess by now, then perhaps the new generation had truly declined.
"Correct," Masa said.
The man's face turned pale with horror.
"But… Senior… why? Why are you doing this?" he asked.
One of the reasons he had attacked Masa was because, as Rank 3 beings—multi universal-level existences—they were respected everywhere.
Each had territories under their control, some housing their clans or families.
So when he sensed Masa's aura and the sudden disappearance of a universe, he had no choice but to act.
"You wouldn't understand even if I told you… so just die," Masa said coldly.
At once, he unleashed an even more terrifying attack—
Snake-like chains appeared, moving at impossible speeds.
Each chain represented a law.
Some burned space.
Some froze it.
Some blurred reality.
Others defied existence itself.
Each one alone could severely injure the man.
And now… there were thousands.
All attacking at once.
His body froze.
Space locked.
Even time slowed drastically.
And then—
They struck.
The surroundings trembled as the marbles representing universes shook violently.
---
Of course, only Masa acted so openly.
The others chose more suppressive methods.
Each remained only a few light-years in size as they devoured planet after planet, even black holes.
In a distant region, a universe was being torn apart as Marken took life after life.
He didn't stop.
From planets … to stars… to entire celestial bodies…
Nothing was spared.
He could hear the mortals mourning, their screams, their cries to heaven.
Even more, they prayed to the past leaders of humanity—including him, King Marken.
But he was now one of them.
So their prayers fell on deaf ears.
"Senior… please don't…"
A peak Rank 2 expert came forward from a galaxy and bowed. His mind was shaken, he had never expected a Rank 3 being to attack his universe, and worse still, that Rank 3 being was devouring everything.
At this stage, even if he wasn't harmed, he wouldn't be able to gather any resources to cultivate and might be stuck forever.
At first, it was within a bearable limit, but with the Crimson Sunflower destroyed, the Lilen Crust Plate… and other important resources gone, he couldn't just sit back anymore.
Marken merely gave the peak Rank 2 being a glance—
And then…
Instantly, his body crumbled and turned into pure energy as Marken opened his mouth and devoured him.
"Still not enough…" Marken muttered as he grabbed a black hole and squeezed.
Crack…
Boom!
A loud explosion echoed as it began expanding rapidly. One must know—this was the explosion of a black hole. The amount of energy released surpassed that of numerous neutron stars.
Yet, before the energy could expand further, it was contained and locked in place.
Marken devoured it instantly as his body blurred, moving toward another galaxy.
Today marked the beginning of the destruction of mortals…
As the very saviors, myths, and legends they once respected and prayed to… fed on them.
Today marked the beginning of the Dark Age.
And the commencement of the feast.
