Far away, at an ancient hidden family…

Pah…

A cup was dropped on the table as a man with youthful features smiled, his eyes containing a dominant aura that seemed to make space itself tremble.

After some discussion with Orion, he had told him and the others to help deal with the forefathers.

And he must say, Hollowind had developed a deep dislike for all these old bones. They had crazy egos, did they think they could just come and take the harvest of what they didn't sow?

Pathetic…

"Hm… show yourself," suddenly, Hollowind spoke as space trembled and an old man walked out.

"Young one, you shouldn't stand against the forefathers," the old man spoke, his voice chilling.

"Hahaha, what a joke," Hollowind laughed wildly at the old man.

Seeing this, the old man frowned. Even he had his limits. Why were these juniors so wild and ignorant? They lacked respect. Was this how low humanity had fallen?

Then perhaps… their plan… was the right one.

"Tell them," Hollowind stood up as a long, thin sword appeared in his hand.

Instantly, the old man's face showed fear as he felt his body lock in place.

"Humanity isn't what you imagined. If any of you tries to do something harmful, then I won't mind killing you so-called legends of humanity," Hollowind finished.

Slash…

"You—"

Splurt…

Blood spread outward as the old man was beheaded, but thankfully, only his body was destroyed. His soul floated out as Hollowind looked at him.

"You… once I recover… once we regain our full strength, you will be the first to fall," the old man threatened.

He had never been disrespected like this before. He remembered when they were worshipped as gods before they chose to sleep.

But now… these reckless juniors dared to defy them.

Hollowind sneered when he heard this.

"Let them come," Hollowind said indifferently as the old man's soul disappeared.

Looking at the body, Hollowind flicked his hand as it turned to dust. As for the old man, his strength recovery would be delayed. After all, he would first need to reform his body.

One could understand his anger and hatred toward Hollowind.

"Grandpa…"

Just then, a sweet female voice was heard as a young woman stepped forward.

Seeing her made Hollowind stiffen as he hurriedly brought out an apron.

"Yes, dear… I will start cooking," Hollowind coughed as both his sword and the blood on the ground disappeared.

Looking at the handsome young man one might even mistake for her younger brother made Lyssandra chuckle.

"Grandpa forgot again, right?" Lyssandra asked as Hollowind coughed some more, pretending to clear his throat.

"Never, it was always on my mind. In fact, I…" Hollowind smiled brightly.

"I have a big surprise for you," Hollowind spread his hands as various ingredients appeared. He took a spatula and smiled.

"Let me go prepare it, dear," Hollowind said as he disappeared.

Watching her grandpa disappear made Lyssandra roll her eyes.

"He forgot, didn't he…" Lyssandra sighed, then looked at the sky for a moment.

She turned her head as her eyes glowed silver.

"I can see you," Lyssandra muttered as space trembled and a head with white hair popped out, popcorn in his mouth.

"Shhh, little girl…" Nephem raised his finger.

Lyssandra chuckled.

"Why are you spying on Grandpa?" Lyssandra asked as Nephem hurriedly shook his head.

Spy? What is spy?

"Never… I was just watching a fun event… more like a movie," Nephem said, nodding at his own poor explanation.

Hearing this, Lyssandra felt even more confused.

"A movie?" Lyssandra asked.

"Ohhh—ouw, ouw—" Nephem grimaced in pain as his ear was dragged back and space closed.

"Are you stupid? Why did you let her see you?" Sword Demon looked at the white-haired fool bowing his head in shame.

Seeing this, Sword Demon sighed as he waved his hand and the earlier interaction between Nephem and Lyssandra vanished.

Across space, Lyssandra stared into nothingness for a while before snapping back.

"Grandpa forgot… I should ask for a special gift to forgive him," Lyssandra nodded as she turned and left.

Back at the Dreadborne organization…

Sword Demon shook his head as he warned Nephem.

"Remember, our master is back. Even if he's just watching, Linkir won't let you have a good time if you disrupt her plan because you wanted to spy," Sword Demon said.

Nephem nodded like a scolded cat.

"But I didn't spy though…" Nephem thought, feeling bullied.

"Heh… Dreadborne is getting more and more active," back at Hollowind's realm…

Hollowind, in the kitchen, looked at the changes in spatial layers and smirked, then continued cooking.

Far away, in a terrifying realm that connects to heaven and various multiverses…

Nyx appeared as space slowly closed behind her.

Currently, she was at the second layer of space—the entrance to the Abyss and the dwelling place of Rank 1 demons.

As a former angel, and a Rank 3 at that, she was never at the front lines of battle. Most times, even Rank 3 beings weren't deployed, so she only watched battles from afar. And when they did fight, it was in deeper layers of space.

So for her, this was a first.

The first time she would visit the Abyss—the demons' home.

The only difference was…

She wasn't here as an angel.

But as a demon…

A fallen angel.

Memories of the past flooded her mind…

Returning to heaven…

Conversations with her fellow angel sisters…

The taste of sweet fruits in heaven…

Visiting the library to learn about other races…

Bathing in the cool, refreshing Spring of Life gifted by the Mystic Elf race…

Alas…

All of that was gone.

And now, she was nothing more than Void's slave.

Nyx clenched her fists.

But there was nothing she could do.

She lifted her head and looked around.

Bayaaa…

Rarrr…

Suiksuimmmm…

Msksisis…

Various strange noises rang out as she felt terrifying clashes echo from the distance… 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

"Seems 'mindless beasts' is a compliment for them," Nyx said as she flew into the sky.

Looking down, she could see the demons killing each other with no remorse, devouring each other's souls…

She flew around as the reality of the Abyss hit her.

There was no society or structure like that of the angels.

All demons did was wake up, battle until they were exhausted, hide and rest, then start all over again.

There was no compassion among them.

Nothing…

Just savage killing machines.

And the more she saw, the more she understood her battles with the demons.

She understood why, at lower levels, they always lost.

Why the demons acted so crazed.

And more importantly…

Any being capable of controlling or uniting this chaos could never be normal.

A perfect example of this was Void… her master.

She was beginning to understand who Void truly was.

"Hm… focus," Nyx muttered suddenly, pulling her thoughts back.

She wasn't here to observe.

She was here for a reason.

To retrieve something from the second layer of the Abyss—something that would help Linkir deal with the forefathers.

This was not a sightseeing trip.

At that moment, she felt a terrifying pressure press down on her.

It was the Abyss itself… warning her.

She was too powerful.

Descend… into the lower Abyss.

"I have to hurry," Nyx said as she increased her speed, her figure blurring out of reality.
