While the king was questioning his existence…

Far at the edge of the multiverse…

Darius arrived at one of the army's main bases as his aura was faintly released. Instantly, multiple generals appeared as they saluted.

"Marshal," they saluted as Darius laughed.

"Good, good…" Darius replied as the generals smiled.

"What brings you here? Have a seat," the generals said as Darius sat down, his expression full of excitement.

"Haha… the king just spoke to me," Darius said, his eyebrows raised.

Immediately, the generals' smiles widened.

This could only mean one thing.

The Dreadborne organization and the king had broken apart. It was no shock or surprise, after all, the Dreadborne had been running rampant everywhere.

They had destroyed homes… planets… galaxies and the king told them to stand down. How many times had they wanted to show the true capabilities of the military?

Did the Dreadborne organization think it could step on the Federation?

There was a reason the other three organizations couldn't share power with the Federation…

"Yes, you guessed right. The king has finally broken away from them and to top it off, the forefathers have returned. It's time for us to step onto the main stage," Darius laughed wildly, his aura full of savagery as space trembled.

The generals all had wide smiles on their faces as they heard this.

The confirmation was all they needed.

Now… it was time to act.

"Now inform the others and let us march forward," Darius instructed as the generals saluted.

"But Marshal, I have something you would like to see…"

Just then, one general spoke as Darius turned to him. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦

Snap…

The general snapped his fingers as space trembled, and a human fell out.

Instantly, a chaotic aura spread out as everyone frowned.

The unique aura belonging to a member of the Dreadborne…

"I found him at the entrance of one of our bases in this region, seeking an audience. He claims he has been discarded by the Dreadborne organization and wishes to join us," the general said as Darius looked at the human with interest.

"Have you soul-searched him? Checked his memories to know if this is a trap?" Darius asked.

Although he wanted nothing more than to tear this human open and explore all the secrets of the Dreadborne especially since all of them were monsters at the same rank, he still had to be cautious.

Hearing this, the general gave a wary smile.

"I'm afraid I couldn't… after all, the Dreadborne are against such actions," the general said, shivering slightly.

He still remembered when a young and arrogant Universal Realm being captured one of the Dreadborne members…

Needless to say, his end was not pleasant.

He faced something he couldn't even explain.

His body was crushed.

His soul shattered.

His consciousness… erased.

That was the level of a Universal Realm being and the worst part was, no one knew how it happened or could even explain it.

And he himself was at that same realm…

How dare he try?

Hearing this, Darius nodded.

He didn't push further. He understood.

Darius stretched out his arm, and before the human could even speak, his eyes turned white.

"Now… let's find out the secrets you hold," Darius muttered with a chuckle.

Darius's eyes moved slightly as memories flooded his mind.

He saw most of Trul's life, his secrets, mistakes, regrets, happiness but he skipped all of that.

He was only interested in the Dreadborne.

Finally… he saw it.

Their location.

Their training.

The intensity made elite military training look like a joke… like child's play.

Then came the leaders of the Dreadborne…

But all their faces were blurred.

A familiar power belonging to beings at the multiversal level and above swirled around them.

Everything else he could see…

But whenever it came to the leaders, something blocked it.

Erased it.

Distorted it.

But still…

He found what he was looking for.

The reason the members of the Dreadborne organization were so strong was simple—

They drank the blood of the leaders of the Dreadborne.

This led to a terrifying speculation.

He had never seen a human bloodline capable of this.

Which meant only one thing…

The leaders of the Dreadborne were not human.

Or at least… not fully human.

But were they remnants of races humanity had wiped out?

No…

No race was this strong.

Then what… were they?

Puzzled, Darius released the human and fell into deep thought.

On the ground, Trul felt like his mind had been shattered.

For a moment, his memories were scattered—he didn't even know who he was.

But slowly… everything clicked back into place.

He looked up.

A faint anger surged within him.

His mind… his soul… had been searched.

Ever since he joined the Dreadborne organization, something like this had never happened.

When had he ever felt this helpless?

This weak?

Trul clenched his fist… then laughed bitterly.

Who was he kidding?

Now… he was just another galaxy-level being to them.

The saying was true—

You never know the value of something until you lose it.

And now, he had lost the Dreadborne.

With that loss came everything else—

Support.

Protection.

Privilege.

"Marshal… what is it?" Seeing Darius deep in thought, the general who brought Trul asked.

What if the Marshal had been attacked by the Dreadborne?

Wouldn't he be held responsible?

"Relax, there's no attack," Darius waved his hand.

The general let out a sigh of relief.

"What the kid said is true. He has been discarded by the Dreadborne organization… and he was a fool for it," Darius said, then paused.

"Put him in the military, yes but not in any major decision-making position. I'm afraid if you do, he will bring more harm than good," Darius said casually, deciding Trul's fate.

At that moment, Trul let out a mocking laugh.

Alayot's words echoed in his mind

"You are no different from Calus."

And it was true.

He had finally seen his reality.

"Fuck…" Trul felt anger surge within him once again.

"Never… I won't be like Calus."

Remembering Calus's gruesome end and how he never rose beyond being a pawn,.Trul swore it to himself.

His eyes blazed with a new goal.

He needed to become stronger…

At least strong enough—

To never again be a pawn on someone else's chessboard.

Because pawns…

Are easily discarded.

And worse—

Sacrificed.
