Abandoned Omega: Wanted by the Bigshots in the Military Academy
Chapter 41: You’re Cheating
Zoe Pierce’s spiritual power was simply unheard of.
Now that it was exposed, her gaze was resolute, her expression composed.
Miles Sherman spoke up. "Only we know?"
Zoe Pierce looked up at him. "Yeah. I don’t trust my brother."
Under any other circumstances, back at school, Zoe Pierce would have never let these people find out.
But in the environment of the joint exam, with no way to protect herself, she was deeply unsettled. This anxiety had led her to reveal her abilities, one step at a time.
Erin Xavier stared at the target, which had already split in two. "Give you a little more time, and you’ll probably learn every spiritual power technique our squad has, won’t you?"
Theoretically, that was the case.
She had observed how Nathan Lockwood used his spiritual power before, and coupled with his special training today, she had already mastered about seventy percent of it.
Aside from her spiritual power lacking his intensity, she no longer had any problems with control.
"Maybe." In front of the others, Zoe Pierce only gave a vague answer.
But everyone present knew that this "maybe" was a "definitely."
"Heh. You’re really something, Zoe Pierce."
"And that’s not all, is it?"
"Your spiritual power can also help an Alpha withstand a Xenobeast’s spiritual power attack."
Erin Xavier couldn’t help but add.
"Are you running on a cheat code?"
"How is this fair?"
Such a spiritual power, yet it was given to an Omega.
Erin Xavier was green with envy.
Oh, and he’d almost forgotten—Zoe Pierce didn’t even need to be soothed. When she used her spiritual power, it didn’t affect her the way it did them.
The Psionic Training Room was filled with Erin Xavier’s incredulous voice.
The silence of the others seemed insignificant in comparison.
Zoe Pierce’s presence didn’t just mean the team had an Omega who could provide soothing; it meant they had what was effectively another Alpha who could use spiritual power.
Other teams all had four Alphas. Only they had five.
Chase Shaw asked, "How long did it take you to approximate Nathan Lockwood’s spiritual power?"
Zoe Pierce answered honestly, "Not too long. He explained the flow of the spiritual power to me in detail."
This sort of thing was all about having a master to guide you. If Zoe Pierce had just watched and tried to figure it out on her own, it might have taken her many days to get to this point.
But with Nathan Lockwood demonstrating it himself, she picked it up and mastered it almost instantly.
"Tomorrow, I’ll explain mine to you," Chase Shaw said in a deep voice, staring intently at her. "Then you can use my spiritual power techniques and try them against me."
"Okay." For once, Zoe Pierce felt a spark of combativeness stir within her.
Erin Xavier hadn’t expected that just by hesitating for a moment, Chase Shaw had already booked Zoe Pierce for the next day.
He quickly interjected, "Then I’ll take the day after tomorrow."
Anyway, the plunder battle was still a ways off. Judging by the progress of the other Alphas at the school, there were probably still seven or eight days to go.
These next few days would be perfect. Everyone could take a turn guiding Zoe Pierce.
Only Miles Sherman had asked for Zoe Pierce’s data from the morning. While scanning it, he said to Nathan Lockwood, "If you knew earlier, why didn’t you say anything?"
"I wanted to see how far she could go on her own," Nathan Lockwood said lightly. "She’s still too green. She was found out too early."
Too many people had noticed her weaknesses, which was why everything had to be revealed now.
Miles Sherman lowered his eyes. The morning’s data clearly showed the full extent of Zoe Pierce’s abilities.
It was the same old problem.
"Not enough stamina. Her spiritual power’s strength and Control Power are declining over time." After scanning the data, Miles Sherman quickly came to a conclusion.
Nathan Lockwood affirmed his assessment. "Her previous training regimen wasn’t intense enough."
The intensity of a physical workout and the intensity of training an Alpha’s physique are two completely different things.
One just requires basic exercise. The other is progressive, with the intensity increasing every day.
"One month isn’t enough." Stamina wasn’t something you could master just by grasping the essence, like with spiritual power.
It required Zoe Pierce to put in real, hard work, sweating every single day to achieve it.
"We’ll take it slow."
Chase Shaw and Erin Xavier had already asked more than enough questions about Zoe Pierce’s spiritual power. Just when Zoe thought the two of them were finally done, she suddenly heard Chase speak up.
"Regarding your family’s ore business, I’ve already had someone look into it. We’ll know more after the joint exam ends."
With his own Intelligent Brain on hand, arranging such things was much easier.
Zoe Pierce’s expression immediately turned serious. She thanked him sincerely, "Thank you."
She also thought of her own Intelligent Brain and turned to Miles Sherman and Nathan Lockwood. "I want a new Intelligent Brain."
An Intelligent Brain that could block Damien Pierce’s surveillance.
Of course, this wasn’t a problem for Nathan Lockwood and the others.
But everything would have to wait until after the joint exam.
Zoe Pierce could only keep telling herself not to be impatient. No matter how anxious she was, there was no way she could leave the joint exam now.
However... "Can you have someone make some trouble for my brother?"
"I hid a ledger before, and my brother is looking for it."
For Damien Pierce, this ledger was the Sword of Damocles hanging over his head, forcing him to continue feigning civility with her.
Zoe Pierce couldn’t guarantee Damien Pierce wouldn’t find it. It would be better to divert his attention elsewhere, to keep him too busy to dig any deeper.
At this, Erin Xavier flashed a brilliant smile. "This sort of thing? Leave it to me. I’m an expert."
The group also made arrangements regarding the Pierce Family, completely relieving Zoe of her worries.
Even knowing that it was all a transaction, Zoe Pierce couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief.
"Tomorrow morning, you’ll run 10 laps around the track with us," Miles Sherman decided, leaving no room for argument.
Since Zoe Pierce didn’t want to join them the easy way as an Omega, but rather wanted to improve herself, Miles Sherman would respect her wishes and provide a viable plan.
"In the afternoon, continue training with Nathan Lockwood." He looked at Chase Shaw, whose eyes suddenly narrowed.
"Don’t bite off more than you can chew. Once her numbers stabilize, then she can train with Chase Shaw." His words were ostensibly for Zoe Pierce, but they were actually directed at Chase.
And so, the teachers responsible for supervising the school’s joint exam suddenly discovered that the entire atmosphere of the camp had changed.
The track, which was usually deserted and used only for assembly and dispatch, now had several figures on it.
"Wait, isn’t that girl an Omega?" Behind the four tall Alphas, a much shorter girl was following.
Although she was also wearing a training uniform, her slender frame was obvious.
It was quite an eye-opener for the teachers. "Yes, that’s the Omega on their team."
"Is this how Miles Sherman and his team treat Omegas? No wonder the Omegas on their squad are replaced so quickly."
No one had ever seen an Omega running and training alongside Alphas before.
The track was a standard 400-meter track. Ten laps came out to 4,000 meters.
"Even for an S-Class squad, this is too much, isn’t it?" one teacher said, frowning as he saw Zoe Pierce clearly struggling with exhaustion after four laps.
Another teacher shrugged. "Teacher Jarvis already went to talk to them. Zoe Pierce is doing this voluntarily."
How were they supposed to persuade her otherwise?
Especially when Teacher Jarvis came back and told them with a complicated expression, "Zoe Pierce said that Erin Xavier and the others have saved her several times, and she doesn’t want to be a burden anymore."
"She wants to become a teammate they can rely on."
