A second chance with my billionaire husband
Chapter 1818 - 420: Lawless and Compassion
"Why?" Ning Ziqi angrily said, "Why did you do this? Did you force yourself on Xuexue... Zihuan, I never thought you’d be this kind of person."
Ning Zihuan sneered, sarcastically replied, "Please, that bitch is a treasure to you, Second Brother, to me, she’s not even worth the mud in a stinking ditch. I feel dirty just looking at her."
Ning Ziqi never expected to hear such words from Ning Zihuan’s mouth. He angrily clenched his fists, eyes blazing as he glared at Ning Zihuan, "Care to repeat what you just said?"
Ning Zihuan calmly smiled and said, "Second Brother, I don’t bother lying to you. Think for yourself, how well do you really know this woman? I’m looking out for you; be careful, or one day she’ll be feasting on your flesh and blood without you even realizing it, and you’ll still be helping her sharpen the knife."
"No... impossible, Xuexue isn’t the kind of person you’re talking about, hand Xuexue over to me right now."
"No way, this woman brought it upon herself, she deserved to die," Ning Zihuan said firmly.
"Ning Zihuan," Ning Ziqi shouted, eyes bloodshot as he stared at him.
"Consider it a plea, Second Brother, even if Xuexue offended you, I beg you, for my sake, spare her, alright?" Ning Ziqi softened his tone.
"Sure."
Ning Ziqi’s eyes lit up, looking eagerly at Ning Zihuan.
"Let’s talk about it in the next life."
Ning Ziqi’s excitement turned to disappointment, he suddenly moved closer, tightly grabbing Ning Zihuan’s collar, "Are you going to let her go or not? Do you really think you can run wild just because you’re in charge of the Ning Family? If you don’t release Xuexue, I’ll make you pay the price."
The usually gentle Ning Ziqi’s eyes flashed with a fierce flame; years may have softened his temperament, but it didn’t mean he was an easy target.
Ning Zihuan looked at him with a smile, "Alright, if you can snatch the Ning Family back from me, I’ll cut my head off and let you use it as a football."
"What would I need your head for? I want Xuexue," Ning Ziqi screamed, tugging at his collar.
"Jing He," Ning Zihuan said calmly.
Jing He stepped out, handed the documents to Ning Ziqi, and said coldly, "Before blaming Third Young Master, Second Young Master might want to take a look at this first."
Ning Ziqi suspiciously glanced at Ning Zihuan, "What trick are you playing now?"
Ning Zihuan shrugged, "Does Second Brother trust an outsider but not his own brother? It truly disheartens me."
Ning Ziqi was disgusted by his pretense, immediately let go, took the document from Jing He, opened the leather cover, and began reading, furrowing his brows deeply with each word.
Ning Zihuan sat straight, carefully smoothing the creases in his clothes, exchanged a look with Jing He, and Jing He withdrew silently.
"Impossible... this cannot be true..." Ning Ziqi suddenly threw the documents at Ning Zihuan’s face, "You must be lying to me, Xuexue couldn’t possibly be like this."
Ning Zihuan shrugged helplessly, "The truth can be brutal when it’s unveiled, but that’s the reality."
Ning Ziqi shook his head desperately, murmuring, "Absolutely impossible...."
The documents stated that Bai Xue was an assassin trained by the world’s largest terror organization, ruthless, committing all evil deeds, with her hands stained with the blood of countless innocent people. Her return to Country Hua was to cause chaos; it was her handiwork behind all those previous bombings. As a Hua Person, Ning Ziqi had basic concepts of right and wrong and patriotism, so he couldn’t possibly accept such actions.
The document also mentioned Bai Xue’s chaotic private life, absolutely not like her pure public image.
This almost overturned Ning Ziqi’s imagination; he recalled the first time he met Bai Xue, back then she was the innocent junior in school, always accompanied by bodyguards. Although there was gossip about her having a mafia background, he never took it seriously.
Until she returned to the country, suffering from a gunshot wound, seeking his help. Out of compassion he saved her, and they spent days and nights together, unknowingly he lost his heart to her.
He had his suspicions, but Bai Xue had voluntarily confessed to him, explaining she was an undercover agent dispatched by the police into the mafia, accidentally exposing her identity and was being hunted. Unable to contact her superior, she asked him to shelter her for a few days. Struck by her bravery, he agreed and never questioned her further.
He no longer knew whom to believe.
"This is all false; she’s a police informant; she has her reasons..." Ning Ziqi continued to defend Bai Xue, deep down refusing to believe she was such a person.
