Chapter 546: Making Trouble at the Qian Family

"We’re all family, no need to be polite," Xu Po waved her hand. To be honest, she felt her niece was living too hard; her second brother’s family was truly too downtrodden.

Xu Jiang stood silently on the side. His brothers causing trouble at their mother-in-law’s place wasn’t much different from what the mother-in-law’s family would do.

But seeing his mother’s dark expression, he didn’t dare speak. He just hoped that whatever trouble they stirred up wouldn’t be too severe, as long as it was enough to scare the Qian Family.

Unfortunately, his wish was destined not to come true. Xu Xue was determined to teach the Qian Family a painful lesson, preferably cutting off relations altogether.

And Xu Hai, he was even more eager for a fight, as that cowardly Qian Family was easy targets; he could take out several of them with a stick.

After staying in the hospital room for a while, the brothers discussed going to the Qian Family. Xu Mumu wanted to go see the commotion, but Yin Yang refused.

He knew what kind of person his father-in-law was, having known him for so many years. If things did get heated, what would happen if his young wife accidentally got hurt?

Xu Xue left with them, while Xu Wan stayed back to take care of Qian Ying.

"Wanwan, why did you come back too? Aren’t you supposed to be in class?" Qian Ying was still worried that her daughter’s return would affect her studies.

"Mom, with you like this, how could I not come back?" Xu Wan held her brother and looked at her mom disapprovingly. Being bullied like this and not fighting back, she was starting to harbor some resentment toward her mother. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚

Even though they hadn’t visited her grandmother’s house much in recent years, every time they did, her mother still brought a lot of things over. When they were at the Qian Family, they had to help with this and that. If she went along, she’d have to help with chores at her grandmother’s as well.

Their grandmother’s methods never changed; it was always playing the victim and then using filial piety to oppress them.

Sometimes she wondered if her parents had a tendency to be abused.

Sometimes she really envied her eldest sister and Jiaojiao; their family didn’t have these annoying issues.

Fortunately, her sister was very capable, and Xu Wan had a lot of trust in her sister.

The whole family headed towards the Three-star Team; the Xu Family, especially from the eldest house, were infamous in the area. Arriving as such a group, many people were curious and asked what they were doing there.

Xu Hai chattered about the disgraceful things the Qian Family had done over the years, hoping to drown them in public shame.

Speaking ill of the Qian Family was not appropriate for Xu Xue, and Xu Hai, being shameless, had no trouble saying it all.

Xu Xue walked silently behind Xu Hai, her lips tightly pressed together. She suddenly felt that the people from the eldest house were not that annoying, especially after Xu Mumu came along. The eldest house barely caused them any trouble.

It was surprising that her uncle would stand up for them first. When her dad had called all the uncles together, she had indeed wanted them to help seek justice.

Arriving at the Qian Family’s place, the Qian Family knew something was up, but they didn’t know how Qian Ying was doing in the county.

However, this didn’t stop them from being shameless. When Xu Xue and the others arrived, the Qian Family immediately shut the main gate, pretending not to hear anything from inside.

The Xu Family came grandly, and there was no attempt to conceal it. The Qian Family had already gotten wind of it and just locked themselves in.

"Big brother, what now? The gate’s shut, and they won’t open up," Xu Jiang looked at Xu Hai.

"No wonder Mom always scolds you. With such a shabby gate, a couple of kicks will open it. Move aside; I’ll kick it open," Xu Hai rolled his eyes, pushed Xu Jiang aside with his hand, and kicked at the Qian Family’s gate.

The Qian Family was poor, having used the same gate for decades, and the wood wasn’t great.

These years, Xu Hai had gained some heft, and his strength was considerable. With one kick, the gate creaked, creating a crack in the middle, just a kick away from splitting in two.

Then, Xu Hai swiftly added another kick, and the gate instantly broke in the middle. The broken gate could only be used as firewood now.

"Ah, my gate! There are bandits! The Xu Family are all bandits! You must compensate for my gate," Old Lady Qian started wailing when the gate was kicked down.

"Yes, pay up now, or you won’t be leaving," several Qian Family brothers also rushed out.

With such a spectacle at the Qian Family, many people from the Three-star Team came, even some from the Red River Team, tagging along with Xu Hai to watch the excitement.

Along the way, Xu Hai had already recounted the Qian Family’s misdeeds over the years, showing that the Qian Family folks were indeed awful.

Seeing them surrounded, Xu Jiang was startled. Xu Hai had gone back to grab a stick, but he hadn’t brought one, expecting that since they were relatives, a fight shouldn’t break out. He hadn’t expected to see the Qian Family brothers armed with clubs and hoes; he had never seen such a scene before.

"Pah! If you want to talk bandits, you Qian Family are the real bandits. After taking so many things from the Xu Family, hand them over quickly, or I’ll smash up your Qian Family," Xu Hai said enthusiastically. It had been years since he had a fight, and his hands were itching to start one right away.

"Grandma, Uncle, you pushed my mom to the point of breaking her leg, and she’s still lying in the hospital. My mom is also your family. How can you be like this? Aren’t you always saying you’re our relatives? You’ve taken so much from us, and now my mom’s in the hospital, and you hide at home and refuse to come out. How can you do this?" Xu Xue spoke while crying sadly, surrounded by many onlookers.

She was not young anymore, at marriageable age, and there was no need to ruin her reputation outside.

Xu Xue, being pretty, looked pitiful even when crying, and since she was speaking the truth, the people around started pointing fingers at the Qian Family.

Unfortunately, the Qian Family members were thick-skinned and didn’t care about this at all.

"Qian Ying is my daughter. I raised her and even got her a rich family like the Xu Family. What’s wrong with taking some of her things? We’re all relatives. Her family lives well but doesn’t even help her brothers here." Old Lady Qian was very tough, facing the pointing fingers around her without fear, and even justifying herself boldly.

"Grandmother, do you not care what happens to my mom anymore?" Xu Xue looked at the Qian Family through tearful eyes, hating these people immensely. Right now, the people she disliked the most were this greedy Qian Family.

"Isn’t she fine?" Old Lady Qian’s eyes flickered, refusing to admit that her son had pushed Qian Ying and broken her leg.

"Mom, my wife’s leg is broken. How is that fine?" Xu Jiang looked aggrievedly at his mother-in-law.

"Why are we wasting so much breath with them? After taking so much from the Xu Family, hand it over quickly, or I’ll start smashing the Qian Family," Xu Hai said impatiently.
